Research Requests & Surveys

Posting Guidelines

From time to time users will post a request to our members to complete a survey or questionnaire for them, usually related to some university or college work.

If you have a survey that you'd like users of Police Community to complete, then please create it within this forum area. All requests will need to be approved by the Moderation Team before being visible to the members. Requests for forum users to complete surveys that are posted elsewhere will be deleted without consultation. You must enter a date that the survey or research project is due to be completed on so that we can remove it from our website once complete, this is so that users aren't left posting data to a survey that's no longer needed.

Hi Im just doing my final year project on Biometric Security in UK Airports. Today we are seeing more and more of our human rights being taken away from us. But when it comes to biometrics security in aiports, do you think it is a necessary or inflicting human rights. Some people believe the implementation of biometrics system in the airport is really to gather personal information which could be used a crossed the government to implement something more sinister, ie new world order/ totalitarian etc... It would be good to see from a law enforcement point of view on this subject for my report. Please can you go the below link and fill in my survey and tell me what you t…

Dear Officers, My name is Jaysan Charlesford; I previously served as a Police Community Support Officer, and I am currently completing my PhD in psychology at Plymouth University. My research project is exploring the relationship between the UK Police service and the Black community. During my time as a member of Police staff it soon became clear to me that the media portrayal of Police officers as generally ‘anti-Black’ was, at best, a great oversimplification of the complex issues of operational policing. Labelling the entire Police service as ‘racist’ is neither helpful nor accurate, and so the whole goal of my research is to correct these misperceptions. To understa…

Hi, I'm researching for my second novel, the first will be out soon as an e-book. I'd love some help with something quite personal. Obviously anything I write will be anonymous. Are there any gay officers out there who would be willing to discuss with me some of the issues you may have faced because of your sexuality and also who could tell me if it would be possible for a gay officer (male of female) to form a relationship with a fellow officer? Follow then DM me on Twitter, SuetheScribe, or be my friend on Facebook: Sue Nicholls - author and blogger went to Cavendish School.

Hi, I'm writing a book, my second actually and I want to include a young TDC who is in a relationship with a married CID officer. If anyone has time to help me I'd be really grateful. What I'd like to know is this: Is a relationship like this feasible? If so, how might it start: party, pub (would they mix)? Might he be responsible for supervising her development? How old would she be? Hope you can help.

Hello, I have a couple of questions in relation to a novel I'm writing. 1. Situation - elderly lady with terminal cancer found dead in her home. Son also found dead at the home (by hanging). Assumption by neighbours is that son killed mother to put her out of pain/because she asked. I assume there would be a post mortem on the mother to find the cause of death (overdose of medication). Would there also be a post mortem on the son? 2. Can a police officer look up missing persons information for a person (possibly) reported missing in another town/city? 3. In the case of a missing person (and child) who has few contacts can a police officer look up birth/deaths/…
