JessC 1
Hello, I have a couple of questions in relation to a novel I'm writing. 1. Situation - elderly lady with terminal cancer found dead in her home. Son also found dead at the home (by hanging). Assumption by neighbours is that son killed mother to put her out of pain/because she asked. I assume there would be a post mortem on the mother to find the cause of death (overdose of medication). Would there also be a post mortem on the son? 2. Can a police officer look up missing persons information for a person (possibly) reported missing in another town/city? 3. In the case of a missing person (and child) who has few contacts can a police officer look up birth/deaths/marriages information to find relatives? Any help would be appreciated as I obviously want this to be procedurely correct, although the book is written from a layman's point of view, and not from the point of view of a police officer. Thanks.
