Research Requests & Surveys

Posting Guidelines

From time to time users will post a request to our members to complete a survey or questionnaire for them, usually related to some university or college work.

If you have a survey that you'd like users of Police Community to complete, then please create it within this forum area. All requests will need to be approved by the Moderation Team before being visible to the members. Requests for forum users to complete surveys that are posted elsewhere will be deleted without consultation. You must enter a date that the survey or research project is due to be completed on so that we can remove it from our website once complete, this is so that users aren't left posting data to a survey that's no longer needed.

Dear UKPoliceOnline , We cordially invite you to take part in our psychology 401 capstone class as we embark on a distinctive analysis of eyewitness memory. Our study, "Assessing the Influence of Medical Masks on Eyewitness Memory: A Study on Police Investigation Protocols," is designed to inspect if medical masks can have an effect on the reliability of memories gathered during police lineups. This study has not been submitted for approval by the University of Michigan Institutional Review Board Health Sciences and Behavioral Sciences. All data collected will be destroyed following the completion of the course and relevant assignments. Due to the fact that the stud…

Hi I am Georgina Mclocklin and I am a researcher at Nottingham Trent University and I am looking for current and ex police officers to share their expertise and experiences of policing the non-consensual sharing of sexual/nude images (sometimes known as revenge porn). This research will explore police officers’ opinions and experiences of policing the non-consensual sharing of sexual/nude images in adults to develop policing recommendations which could include for legislation, practical policy or police training. Thus the research aims to include a clear police voice in developing practical recommendations. The police interviews will then be compared to victim inter…

Hello, I'm Rebecca Kirley, a PhD student. I’m working on a project for my dissertation which explores the idea of organisational learning from public complaints and civil claims in police forces. This is in light of the recent national changes to the complaints system to make it more learning-oriented, and also because there's been little research into what it means to learn from these kinds of processes, or whether and how such learning happens. Part of the study also explores what role might be played in learning (if any) by force social diversity. If you would be willing to share your professional perspectives and experiences with me it would be a massive help! …

Hello! I’m an Undergraduate Psychology student in my final year of university who is currently in the process of recruitment for my final year research project. This is an exploration of whether discriminatory treatment is evident, and if so, how? All information and data is anonymous, more in-depth information about the research survey and ethics are documented on the ‘Participant Information Sheet’ you will receive if you are considering participation. Please…

Afternoon Everyone, So I have a little discussion for you all to participate in. With the ever rising diagnosis of PTSD amongst our armed forces and other emergency services, should this automatically disqualify them from job joining the Police? The reason behind my interest in this is I am due to fail my medical any day nowN. Now it is, what it is and can't be challenged. However as someone who was diagnosed with PTSD from NOV 2019 to March 2020 (Yes a whole 4 months 🤣🤣) this has been used as a basis to fail me (My background is RAF Supply so essentially the most disturbing thing I ever seen or did was the giving away of a decent pair of boots 🤣🤣) …
