Georgina Mclocklin * 0 Posted Friday at 14:53 Share Posted Friday at 14:53 Hi I am Georgina Mclocklin and I am a researcher at Nottingham Trent University and I am looking for current and ex police officers to share their expertise and experiences of policing the non-consensual sharing of sexual/nude images (sometimes known as revenge porn). This research will explore police officers’ opinions and experiences of policing the non-consensual sharing of sexual/nude images in adults to develop policing recommendations which could include for legislation, practical policy or police training. Thus the research aims to include a clear police voice in developing practical recommendations. The police interviews will then be compared to victim interviews, to see for similarities and differences I develop these recommendations collaboratively so they both address victim needs, but are also realistic for police. The researcher is open to both current and ex-police officers of any rank (must have left since 2016). The research will involve an hour online interview using Teams which will ask you about your opinion of laws around the non-consensual sharing of sexual/nude images, your experiences (if any) of handling this crime, any challenges you've faced and your opinion on what could be improved. You do not need direct experience to take part. Your interview will be anonymised so identifiable information (e.g., your name, organisation, location) will be removed in all outputs from the study. Any contact information (e.g. your email) to arrange the interview will be confidential and not seen by anyone except me. The research has received ethical approval from the university and is advertised on the College of Policing and EMPAC website and a few police forces. As such, it has also been approved by the Evidence Based Policing Group. For more information or to take part and have your say in the development of these recommendations, please contact: [email protected] Thank you for your time
