I understand that we have a law, S1 Prevention of Crime Act 1953, which makes it illegal to carry an offensive weapon in public, when not at place of abode, without lawful authority or reasonable excuse. This is a situation in my current neighbourhood. There are a number of kids (7-15yo) who insist on playing ball games around parked cars while the parents just look on. The balls used are capable of causing damage (basketballs, tennis ball & racket, footballs). This has been going on for years, cars have been damaged, every day we tell them to keep away, go and play out the back in the field, go and play in the football fields, go and play in the park which can all be reached in a 5-15 minute walk. What offences have been committed if a person buys drugs (class a) from abroad and gets them sent to his or hers home address. However they were never recieved and intercepted by customs? Not sure on this one any advice?

The news story: I thought even carrying a knife was a mandatory jail sentance? So why doesnt using a taser get a jail sentance?

Evening all, A neighbour of a friend is a part time used car dealer (what joy!) and has recently started parking cars on the street in front of neighbouring properties. Just want peoples opinions, on what constitutes 'reasonable force', which can be used by the police, when making an arrest? I admit that I'd been drunk and disorderly and was walking alongside the arresting officer (with my stick, which I need to use as an aid, when outdoors) towards the nearby police vehicle. As he bent down to open the car door, I moved slightly away from his grasp, as I felt my body becoming unbalanced. So I have looks up the lighting regs. Got the 11.1 and 11.2 and 16. But where is the part about seeing the tubes? I'm sure that's an offence? Does it include the led lights? Cheers

Having just seen a news report about a Manchester officer having been attacked by a dog, I was just wondering if any legislation covers use of force against a dog attack? If an officer ended up killing the dog, in prevention of further injury to themselves, would they be liable for, criminal damage, say?
