Every year I go Cyprus 2 weeks in June, 2 weeks in Sept. My wife is a Cypriot with all her family living there so, Its not really a holiday cause, I sit around a table with her family and there are flippin loads of um doing nothing but eat, I aint got a clue what they are talking about unless they swear then, If im lucky enough to get a day off from that her dad likes to put me to work as he owns an alarm company, I get to stand on a ladder in 100 degree+ sunshine. This is the only holiday I get. Where does everyone else go?

From the BBC Seized gollies returned to store Police in Herefordshire say they will not be charging a store owner after removing three toy golliwogs from his shop window. The toys were removed from a display at Pettifer's, Bromyard, after a passer-by complained they were offensive. Officers said the items will be returned but store owner Donald Reynolds will be advised about the sensitivities of displaying them. Mr Reynolds said he would continue to sell them. He said he had not received any complaints about the toys, which had been on display for two weeks, before they were seized. 'Good sellers' He decided to sell them after alter…

I know it's a ranking in the forums. But I was watching Eastenders this weekend and a character called another character a muppet. So what is being a muppet or being called a muppet really mean? Thanks

Hello everyone! I'm a civvy (Police Support Staff) and work in a library; I 'joined' as a shorthand typist in 1973 and have been looking after the Force Library since 1994. I'm known as Auntie Linda - partly in deference to my advanced years, and partly because I'm the one who sews buttons back on when they've come off, I have the emergency clothes brush and shoe polish, mints to help get rid of that lingering garlic taste after the night before, stamps, paracetemol, plasters, sympathy and box of tissues for a crisis, etc. etc. Oh, and I fit in work as well! I look forward to meeting you all on this forum and sharing ideas. Best wishes, Auntie Linda3876…

Hello members I've been looking at some items advertised online at ebay. There are numerous police items up for sale. There are police baseball caps, uniforms, fake warrant card holders, badges, etc. It made me wonder what the statistics are for persons impersonating police officers. Does anyone know?

In November last year my partner applied to become a Police Officer. He received a letter saying he had passed Stage 1 and would be invited to Stage 2 which was an assessment centre. Stage 3 was a fitness test which he was sure to pass as he has been running 6 miles a night in preparation. We received a letter in February 2006 telling us that 300 people had passes stage 1 but they only had 192 places at the assessment centre therefore he and 107 others had been 'randomly de-selected'. When we phoned up Gloucestershire Constabulary HR department we were told that they would not tell us how the 'random deselection' had taken place. But a couple of weeks later in the local…

Well folks, after 6 months, my force has finally sorted out my transfer and I once again have the opportunity to give some of my free time to the community and, hopefully, make it a better place. The new station I work from looks to be OK, but man is it busy. I worked for the first time on Saturday, and my feet didn't touch the ground!!! Far busier than I ever was at my previous nick - and I loved every minute of it! I only make one minor cock-up, but after 6 months out of the saddle I think I can be excused that. More importantly, I was able to clear a number of calls that had been outstanding for a while, and free up regular officers to deal with more pressi…

I read in the national press that Teflon Tony is to purchase 22 Jaguar saloons, at £50,000 each, for all Cabinet Ministers, ''they need powerful cars to get away in the UNLIKELY event of a terrorist attack''.(my capitals) Can someone tell me who these 22 very experienced drivers are who will be driving them, I doubt if more than 2% of the drivers come anywhere near a Class 1 police driver. I wouldnt fancy being anywhere near one of those if the balloon went up. I think its another case of 'self-importance', the cars they have at the moment are perfectly adequate if driven properly, another case of 'waste of tax payers money'.

Before I get round to doing January's Brians I just thought that some of the other moderators on here may wish to submit some evidence to the panel for the title of 'Most Handsome Moderator'. Clearly this has to be scientific and I've found the perfect site to help. It's a face recognition thingy that scans your face and tells you which famous people you look like. You have to register etc....but it's hours of fun. (My boss looks like General Pinochet...I don't think I'll tell her) Now, there has to be a certain degree of honesty here. Seeing as how you're all upstanding pillars I would expect you to be truthful. You will have to give ALL of the male names mat…

Hello boys & girls. This post has nothing whatsoever to do with police. I stumbled upon it by chance. It's called; www.dvdeastereggs.com. It has nothing to do with Easter. ...I'll explain; Most pre-recorded digital versatile discs (DVD's) contain hidden material known as eastereggs. This material can include numerous items such as - additional footage, soundtracks, outtakes, etc. The DVD player's remote is used to locate these eastereggs. The website contains many common pre-recorded films. Try it out.

I thougnt it might be prudent for members of the board to share places where perks can be obtained, after all if they are there then lets use them and show our valid custom! Starbucks will often give you free coffees if you turn up in uniform Pizza Hut give you 20% of meals on product of you brief (no don't drag you solicitor in) Subway for uniforms is 20% off Millets and Blacks both do 10% off purchases Any one else got any others...? bluearsedfly38754.3840046296
