The Locker Room

'The Independant on Sunday' 15 February 2009 Paul Moore will go to Mass today, eat Sunday roast with his family, maybe argue a bit with his teenage children, then take his dog for a walk in the fields around his Yorkshire home, five minutes or so from the magnificent grounds of Ampleforth College. And Moore is astonishingly calm, considering he has just been through the most tumultuous week of his life. For, within a few days, the unknown 50-year-old barrister-cum-banking expert has become the country's…

My in-laws have their bungalow up for sale and they had a viewing this morning by a couple in their late thirties. My mother-in-law showed them around and they seemed moderately interested until they got to the kitchen at which point the man got all excited, pointed to the fridge, which is a very bog-standard white fridge, and said, Man: "If I'm not mistaken, that's a Fridgemaster MTR 12345 (Some number or other)?" Mother-in-law: "It's a Fridgemaster, but I've no idea what model it is." Man: "How long have you had it?" Mother-in-law: "Dunno. Five years or so, I guess". Man: "It's definitely an MTR 12345. Does it have a blue dial inside?" Mother-in-law: "Yes…

I have only just about calmed down from an incident that I witnessed earlier this week. Tuesday to be exact. I'll start from the beginning & I'm sure many will feel as angry & sickened as I did & still do. I enjoy reading but I am a very fast reader & on average, get through one largeish paperback a week so at that rate I can't afford to buy new books unless it is a book I specifically really want. Because of this I mainly buy my books in charity shops as they're usually only around 30p each & it supports a good cause. I was in the local Cancer Research shop earlier this week & was browsing through the books, I went to look at the other she…

What do you guys think of the new Kiera Knightley Domestic Violence ad? They were discussing it on loose women this morning and wondered what you thought about it. Most of the comments people were making this morning on TV were that it was too volatile to be put on TV.... It is currently being shown on cinema adverts which are a certificate 15+ and it is awaiting a decision as to wether it can be put on TV...... ps: I dont know how to put the video on here so you don't have to click on the link....sorry.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8026589.stm I still think these committees have a very high opinion of themselves. This Government has done more to ruin the UK than the banks ever did. Gollum and his Cronies has ruined the UK, not the Banks.
