Now we read about another New Liarbore education stupidity. It is reported (allegedly) that Ed balls balls balls Balls wants to exempt Islamic Faith Schools from the proposed 'Smaking Ban Bill'. Just what sort of nonsense is this, and why Islamic Faith schools exemption. Why? "Is it because they (New Labour), don't want to ..."Upset Anybody!" Ye Gods and Little Fishes... this will Upset Everybody!! Logic dictates that if this is applied, then it should be applied to ALL Faith schools, and why not ALL schools. By promoting minority faith schools against the majority is recipe for social disruption, but then most of New Labour's eduction policies have been a somewhat disas…

KNEELING HIGH JUMP RECORD Are you aware that a new world record has been set for the HIGH JUMP from a KNEELING position ? That's right, from a kneeling position. The record (0.757 metres) - remember this is from a KNEELING position - was set recently on a beach near Montpellier in Southern France . This photograph was taken a split second before the jump - but it gives you an idea as to how it was achieved....... Some images on the page MAY NOT BE WORK SAFE - click link to have a look the jump

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...ng-of-2009.html The opera-singing star of the Go Compare commercial has helped propel it to the title of most irritating advert of 2009. My annoyance, and the advert that forces me to change channel comes in at number eight. :clapping: We buy any car . com, we buy any car . com

The FA has confirmed that, for the first time since 1966, there will be no official song to mark England's World Cup campaign in South Africa. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8461433.stm Thats a shame,i loved the 96 anthem,i feel a world cup song really improves the atmosphere, and brings added excitment to games.

I don't want people to get too excited but there is a lot of talk on the weather forums/newsgroups about a change in the weather that will be happening this weekend. Basically, this wet and windy weather is set to change to calm and dry weather. However, one effect of the high pressure could be to drag in very cold air from the continent. It then looks as if an Atlantic low will start to push the high pressure out of the way. If that happens at the same time as the cold air is being brought in, the result should be snow. If this is to happen at all, it would most likely be next week but would then be likely to last for Christmas. Of course, the whole pattern still has …

Thousands of workers have been told they must reverse into parking spaces at their offices under a ‘draconian’ health and safety regime imposed by Britain’s second-largest power supplier. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12...l#ixzz0cta5yZ8r "‘Reversing into a static parking bay is safer than reversing out into a road or car park" As opposed to parking in a moving car park?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newsvideo/...ing-for-TV.html An anti-bullying advert that was ruled too shocking to appear on television was launched today. The film, which includes scenes where a teenage girl sews her own mouth shut, will be shown online and in cinemas before films rated 12A and above. Too shocking, or are we being protected again from the harsh reality's of life?

Pls can you read this and email it on,, this one, for a change is genuine.. Ian_C Last week I was in West London attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen. Moving through the terminal was a group of soldiers in their uniforms, as they began heading to their gate everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red…

We will shortly be replacing our old TV set with a colour one. The one we will probably buy is big thin one with a 32"screen (Beovision something) and the colour and it comes with High Definition, which my friends and the salesmen in the shop rave about. I have three HDTV satellite decoders in my house, before anyone asks, and I have just signed up to the Canal+ family package. The guy in the shop showed me the "difference" and I'm struggling to see that it's any better than the ordinary definition. OK, the salesman did show me a bit of a nature programme and the detain was a bit finer, but nothing to write home about and certainly not something I would be willing to…

Kevin McCloud in the slums in India?? Absolutely fascinating how the people not only live but actually thrive in such appauling conditions. And we complain about a bit of snow! The families live in tin huts with 21 people sharing a place no bigger than a large shed... Apparently over a million people live in one square mile! Just makes you glad to live in such a nice country really..

Is anyone, or does anyone know of, any Officers who are volunteer emergency relief/aid workers to join the teams that go to disasters such as Haiti, or the Tsunami a few years ago? I often hear on the news about teams made up of emergency service workers, which I assume are mostly fire service people, but I was wondering if Police get involved too. Any insight?
