Alpha Protocol on PS3 This week on PoliceOracle.com we are giving members the opportunity to try their hand at playing in the murky world of international espionage in our competition. We have five copies of Sega’s Alpha Protocol – a role-playing game with an expansive set of plot lines that unfold depending on your character’s actions – to give away on PS3. And our reviewers have already given the game the thumbs up. Armed with charisma as well as a host of weapons, Alpha Protocol puts players in the shoes of an agent who must decide whether their style is one of seduction and subversion or killing and coercion. All in all, Alpha Protocol will pass a fair few…

When looking for a friend's commission in the London Gazette, I discovered that they post notices of awards and honours. There are some very brave people in this country, especially regular members of the public. Take a look here. There's a particularly good one relating to the actions of people during the bombing in Glasgow Airport (linky).

The first robot capable of developing emotions and forming bonds with humans has been unveiled by scientists. Nao has been designed to mimic the emotional skills of a one-year-old child and is capable of forming bonds with people who treat it kindly. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1303183/David-Blunkett-set-join-Tory-war-dole-cheats.html I thought Cameron had more sense than to ask this Buffoon Blunkett to assist the government with sorting out dole cheats etc. This is the man who fraudulently obtained train tickets for his girlfriend, and fast tracked her Visa, and was twice dropped from the Cabinet for nefarious dealings. I suppose having a crook help you is sensible, he will know all the ins and outs of fiddling things.

"The woman Naomi Campbell once regarded as her ‘surrogate mother’ yesterday cast grave doubts on the supermodel’s account of how she received ‘blood diamonds’ from an African despot. Her former agent Carole White told a war crimes trial that Miss Campbell was promised the gems as a gift from ex-Liberian president Charles Taylor and accepted them by arrangement from two of his henchmen. The damning testimony was in stark contrast to the model’s earlier evidence to the international court in The Hague that the diamonds were delivered – out of the blue – to her hotel room in the middle of the night, and she had no idea who had sent them. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1300857/Marlon-King-vows-play-release-jail-nightclub-sex-assault.html The newspaper wishes to apologise profusely, it has printed his name completely wrong numerous times, it is Moron King, not Marlon. The man is a complete t**ser, I watched him on TV trying to explain all his convictions which he tried to imply were not genuine, he implied he was a totally misunderstood man who was totally innocent.

I found this news item on the BBC Website and I wholeheartedly sit on the judgemental fence at the moment. Part of me says they are a good thing, attracting crowds at events, therefore bringing in money to the economy, together with promoting the RAF to potential recruits, whilst the other half of me says they must cost millions to keep active and this money could be better spent. What say you ?? Sorry - I had my yes and no the wrong way round - now corrected.999tommo2010-08-10 21:39:18

I was touched to hear of this story http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-10913608 and the fact that people could be so heartless. I was hoping that as Police and ordinary decent citizens we might be able to offer these people some form of assistance? Apparently they are due to come into Dover on 13th August, then travel through England before heading through Scotland and catching a Ferry to Northern Ireland. Their progress (and I'm sure any offers of help) can be found at; http://www.facebook.com/malangela#!/pages/mopedcyclediaries/141056762579320?ref=ts Come on Forum Members, lets get our heads together and see if we can help!
