Could anyone who has anything positive to say/nice stories about their police colleagues post them in here please? There are so many anti-police stories in the media, of course you rarely ever get to hear about the good 'uns. But reading some of these posts on here is making me depressed and it feels like I'm talking to my mum... (She's not anti-police, but she is anti-daughter joining the police - it brings out the 'daily mail' side of her - I am constantly hearing about how the police are nasty, racist, sexist thugs and how I will hate the job etc etc). I should say that I don't think the job will be a stroll in the park, it will be tough and I'm not looking at it throu…

Back in 2007 (accoding the the Daily Mail and Telegraph) apperantly in commons it was discussed that a new border based police force would be created. ( I imagine it would be like Homeland Security?) Does anyone know why it was scrapped? apart from funds or if its still in the pipeline? Link to one of the articles :- http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1557107/UK-may-get-one-border-police.html Sorry, i think i placed it in the wrong spot... If a moderator could kindly do me the honours Thanks and sorry!

A good thing, just another means of 'politicising' the Police that will end as Gunny Highway would state ..."A Cluster F**k!" If this is made 'law', will that mean the post of Chief Constable will no longer exist? And will those who put themselves up for election - should they have a Police background (Maybe retired Senior/Chief Officers taking the role). As I understand this, the US system of elected County Sheriffs …

Can any of the slightly older ones amongst us remember the following: It was a can of drink. I think it was a lemon or lemon/lime type fizzy drink. The can was almost completely yellow and I THINK (but not sure) the writing (it's name) was written diagonally up the can. Hmmm anyone?
