If we are to believe what we read, this man is getting closer by the day to being elected god help us (just my opinion). To me he comes close to that cowboy G. Bush jnr. (again, just my opinion). How on gods earth can someone like Trump have the most powerful position in the world. Let's just hope it doesn't happen.

With the current boycot of the oscars because of diversity I'm surprised that other races, the disabled, transgendered, Warwick Davies, the untalented & the unemployed etc etc haven't raised their voices to express dissatisfaction at their lack of representation. I'm very upset at the lack of Scots & think Andy Murray should have been nominated for his facial expressions which would outdo Jim Carrey any day.

http://news.sky.com/story/1619703/merkel-backs-tougher-laws-after-sex-attacks "Merkel backs tougher laws after sex attacks" That's big of her, since it was her irresponsible open invitation that's partly responsible for the situation the whole of Europe now finds itself in. I also find it a tad outrageous that the Cologne Police Chief is being made the scapegoat for this incident whilst Merkel gets to keep her job. It's easy to say we'll back tougher laws, but in reality the ECHR will limit what that actually equates to in practice. They won't be able to send those involved back to a country where they could be at risk of harm if they can even ascertain wh…

What does anyone think of the TV series Judge John Deed? I never miss an episode, (the fact Caroline Langrishe is in it is purely coincidental ). Storylines seem a bit OTT with Deed's ex and current / ex lover before him, but its good fun to watch. Martin Shaw seems to bring whatever part he plays come to life and really makes you believe he really is the character he's playing.

Hello all. Dear Gran. Not one of you have asked after her in recent months but never mind. She says it doesn't matter, but I can see the pain in her face as she is forgotten. Can you help the old booby though? She's one letter missing but it's E D L A H T N A crime drama series on BBC1 (8).

He was far too young. A truly professional person, performing, song writing, acting and other talents too. He gave so much to my era of music. R.I.P. David

Having been a police officer for many years, I certainly served my Queen and country (and in other ways too) however, I have often thought in the recent past that there could be a replacement for the current English national anthem, the reason being that Ireland, Scotland and Wales all, in their national anthem, sing about their country and land, whereas, here in England, we sing about a person. That to me doesn't seem right somehow. I know that on this forum I may be putting my head on the block so to speak, but I can assure you, I in no way wish to be unpatriotic or offend anyone.

I can't put my finger on why exactly, but the existence of Volunteer Police Community Support Officers (VPCSOs) doesn't sit well with me. I believe that PCSOs (CSOs in my force) do a stellar job and are extremely useful, but that is because they get to know their communities intimately. Their depth of knowledge is a distinct advantage, and I'd go as far to say, a pre-requisite, for being a successful CSO. Would the VPCSOs be conducting the same work as the PCSOs? Are VPCSOs another way of getting what most police forces call "Police Volunteers"? My comments are not intended to diminish the contribution being made by anyone who decides to become a VPCSO. It would be in…

Hope this isn't inappropriate? Made me laugh. On the subject of policemen, guardsmen etc needing the toilet when on parade etc, many years ago there used to be a means of discrete relief at least for men. A piece of apparatus called a "guardsmen's friend" was available. This consisted of a rubberised pouch worn like a pair of underpants with a condom-like sheath for the penis, leading to a long rubber tube with a reservoir and valve at the bottom. This fitted down the trouser leg. If the officer or soldier got to the stage where he couldn't wait any longer he would just pee as he was standing there, then find a drain or gutter and reach down, release the valve and let th…
