    TV crew (again)

Let's be clear from the outset that I'm absolutely not talking about people who run around with consumer cameras trying to create confrontation for the sake of YouTube hits. I'm talking about experienced television professionals working on assignment (though in law there is often no difference between the two.) Anyway. A few years ago I posted on this forum regarding the increasingly fractious relationship between the police and TV crews. I'm making this post because it is getting worse, not better. I have some responsibility for training and for new entrants to the industry, and I am try

    Crown Court TV series

For your viewing pleasure, I've recently found a number of videos on Youtube of the Granada 70's TV series, "Crown Court" - the uploader name is "Jez T" if that helps you to narrow down your search. I cannot, however, answer for the correctness of the copyright status. Nor should you take all the procedures and rules of 30+ years ago as applying today. Enjoy.

    Cuffs - BBC One

Cuffs starts on Wednesday 28th October - looks to be an interesting drama. Who's watching? http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-10-16/first-look-at-bbc-drama-cuffs-starring-sherlocks-amanda-abbington-and-ashley-walters

  6. Chief Cheetah

Anybody else watching the excellent Deutschland83 series? I think it is one of the best programmes of the last decade. It's a period I lived through as teenager and it's pretty damned scary, plus it's got 80's music in it which is also pretty damn scary. It is brilliant though. I am slightly confused however. It did say it was an 8 part series. All of the info on the net says it is an 8 part series. When it first aired abroad last year it was an 8 part series. It has now gone from 8 parts on Ch4 to 7 parts. The 7th part is next week and that is the final part.

    Judge John Deed

What does anyone think of the TV series Judge John Deed? I never miss an episode, (the fact Caroline Langrishe is in it is purely coincidental ). Storylines seem a bit OTT with Deed's ex and current / ex lover before him, but its good fun to watch. Martin Shaw seems to bring whatever part he plays come to life and really makes you believe he really is the character he's playing.
  8. Did anybody else watch the programme that was on ITV this evening? what are your thoughts about it? Personally...I dont think they really got the message across that with the current state of affairs the police as we know it could be on the edge of collapsing and I think this should have been put across to the general public. Instead they seemed to be more interested with showing the side of people taking things into their own hands, the community group seemed like a good idea though.

    TV show: no offence

A new police drama starts on Tuesday 5th May, on channel four, called "no offence" http://www.comedy.co.uk/guide/tv/no_offence/
  10. Toms

    TV Zone

Personally I'm a bit of a TV fanatic though its mostly the Yank shows that I'm really into. Really looking forward to the new Game of Thrones coming out, though I'm massively disappointed in the lack of new quality TV comedies coming from either side of the pond. When you look at the drama series with all the money being spent and genuine movie stars now on TV then look at the rubbish comedy that seems to get cancelled before the first series even finishes. Obviously the 90's and the early 00's were the decades for excellent comedy. Looks like we are in the dreary gritty decade of TV
  11. For those who weren't aware (I wasn't til I saw it on Demand 5) Police Interceptors is back on Channel 5! Follows the same unit from Lincolnshire Police as seen in previous series. First episode was a good watch, jealous of them driving them new Octavia VRS'. Check it out on Demand 5 here; http://www.channel5.com/shows/police-interceptors Otherwise I'd imagine its on the telly at 8pm every Monday on Channel 5.
