ScotLass + 638
Cuffs starts on Wednesday 28th October - looks to be an interesting drama. Who's watching? http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-10-16/first-look-at-bbc-drama-cuffs-starring-sherlocks-amanda-abbington-and-ashley-walters Edited October 19, 2015 by Mazza
Dave SYP + 2,963
I'll give it a try, although some of you 'young 'uns' might have to coach me through the new terminology. I was brought up on Dixon Of Dock Green you know!
Sc Diceman 3
I thought it was a pretty good show that expressed and portrayed well the issues related to cuts to the force and some of the BS we put up with
andi + 1,262
This is bad, but for some reason I just can't stop watching...
ScotLass + 638
I haven't watched ep 2 yet but I quite enjoyed ep 1.
CountyCop + 178
Watched a few minutes of it last night and had to turn it off. It was just painful, especially the bit with DC and his boss. I just found the whole thing to be a bit childish.
Global Moderators MindTheGap 1,275 Posted November 5, 2015 Global Moderators Share Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) I've got to admit I enjoy it - but I see it for what it is, it's not a documentary or a factual production, it's an entertainment drama programme... Plus Jacob Ifan is pleasing on the eye... Edited November 7, 2015 by MindTheGap
stewie_griffin + 484
I liked it, but it does take diversity to a whole new level e.g.. Chinese lesbian = all action hero White male PC = fat and useless Black male PC = gritty but caring Gay male PC = handsome, sensitive and caring Straight white male DI= pervert who visits prostitutes I'm sure there are some I've missed out
Admin Team Sir Penguin 648 Posted November 6, 2015 Admin Team Share Posted November 6, 2015 It's the new Bill! Although it's all made up it does show an element of truth in some of the issues we face.
Jimbo26 + 199
Don't forget the Muslim officer. The Home Office would have a right hard on over the diversity at that nick.
Shmook + 532
First episode, tutor constable squaring up to his rookie? second episode, rookie feeling taser effects as he grabbed someone being tased? It's rubbish. edit, I'm a special with just over 18 months service, so hardly 'experienced' and it makes me cringe. Edited November 6, 2015 by Shmook Random letters in my post! sparkydale 1,194
It's entertainment. And OK at that. Enough realistic situations, comments and dialogue to be interesting to the job without it becoming Police Interceptors. I'd rather have more original drama like this on telly, rather than another niche reality/talent show (Bake Off, Apprentice, Watercolour Challenge,X Factor etc.)
Eddzz!! + 149
Watch Ep1 last night... It was soooooo cringey, but I just couldn't stop watching it. Nothing like real life, but hey-ho!

I am a special with only 4 months experience and parts of it made me cringe too. However, I have watched both episodes all the way through! Global Moderators MindTheGap 1,275 Posted November 7, 2015 Global Moderators Share Posted November 7, 2015 At the end of the day, the factual accuracies of technical points like use of taser and barb spread etc aren't what people watch programmes like this for, just like doctors don't hang on every word Casualty says taking in tips...
