Hi Guys, I am currently a special constable for Hertfordshire Police and I am living in London , I decided to apply for Police Scotland, passed S.E.T. and have my initial interview at the end of January - quite nervous as I am quite bad with interviews. Wanted to ask if anyone knows the questions I will or may be asked, and what should I study for the interview/expect. Any tips would be much appreciated. Want to feel more confident in passing. Evening all, just looking for a bit of information. Is there anyone on here that has joined police Scotland after serving as a MOD officer? I m know that I’ll have to start from the start again, and I’m fine with that I’ve been an officer for just over a year now for the MOD and considering applying to police Scotland. Just looking for anyone that’s made the switch that way, as it seems to be most people switch from Police Scotland it MOD. Did any of the stuff you learned down at the school help you in your current role? How did you settle in as I know it’s a total different job to what I do just now? Any help at all would be brilliant Thanks.

Hi Guys, Currently at Tulliallan and have had the news that I have been posted to Aberdeen City centre. Not ideal at all as I have a family and Mortgage 70 mile to the north. This distance is not commutable. However I have to get on with it. I was send an accommodation pack but it was more for renting 'full' flats or houses which makes it way to expensive for myself. Is there any current probationers out there been in the same boat and could offer a solution? I have looked on spareroom.com and seen rooms available for around 300pcm mark but again I naturally want it to be as cheap as possible, so that I can at least live! I had notice that the Uni offe…

Hi all, Just looking for a bit of advice. I was previously a Cadet with Strathclyde Police a good 10-11 year ago. I then had a car accident (my fault) and was charged with Careless Driving. This was about 9-10 years ago now. I resigned as a Cadet due to this. About 5 years ago I was driving a friends car home and got pulled over for a regular check. It came back that I was not covered to drive his car. So I was asked to bring my documents in the next day. I went home and discovered I was not insured on his car, it was an honest mistake and I went to the station the next day and held my hands up. Hi folks, anyone know if you are able to phone up recruitment to get feedback on an application rejection? Got mine at 16:59 and by the time I phoned up 5 minutes later nobody was answering the phone. Anyone know if they are able to give you specific feedback before I spend the rest of my weekend racking my brains and scrutinizing every word on the form? Second rejection for the same job role in 2 months, I meet their entrance criteria but I'm still not having any luck. Not holding out much hope for my other existing application either. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I should be starting at Tulliallan soon and wondered if the current set of students have any advice other than bringing pillows and irons though this will be done for sure! I just wanted to know if there is any reading material I could look up to get ahead of the game. Never wanted to learn this much before but I am about to finish my notice period a month before I start at Tulli so something to do will help to keep busy. How is the phone/internet situation, I have seen various references to problems. Do you need to buy Police Scotland PT kit or is your own fine? Anything else that comes to mind would be great too. Hello, Just wondering if anyone else has their SETs on the 15th May in Aberdeen and who might fancy starting a group chat or maybe meeting up before the exam to share some tips/advice? I don't stay in Aberdeen but I'm traveling up the night before the exams. Hi guys, I am needing some advice regarding References. I did try via another thread but had no joy. I am currently a Joiner and its a dog eat dog world and you move jobs quite abit. In January I was approached by a Man for me to work for him. Anyway 4 weeks down the line the guy let me go. (Basically because 2 other boys jacked in and he lost a contract). So I found myself out of a job. When 'he let me go' over the phone he said he would give me a good reference, however a day after I tried ringing him and he never answered.
