Hi all, Just had an email advising I'm being progressed for a September intake (all going well) so thought it would be a good idea to make a thread for those in the same position. I was also asked to get my uniform fitting appointment booked in. Find this interesting that I've been told to do this as I haven't completed my fitness or substance misuse tests yet and hadn't heard of it being done in this order before. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat.

First applied in 2019...passed SET but absolutely failed miserably on first interview,it was awful! I had zero experience and was totally unprepared for a competency based interview. Anyway if anyone could be so helpful in giving me a rough breakdown in areas I need to study I'd be very grateful.

Hi folks, just joined the forum. I am waiting on going to tulliallan- hopefully in April as that is when the provisional intake is. Is there anything I can do in preparation for going on training at Tulliallan? Is there any books etc I can look over to try and get myself familiar with what lies ahead? Thanks

Hi, I’m just wondering if anyone has sat the police Scotland medical and failed due to the hearing test. I recently failed my hearing test and have a result in a few weeks time. Just curious to see if anyone else failed first time and then passed on the second attempt. cheers

hi guys, I have passed my PSET and fitness test for police scotland and am now moving onto the next stage wherein the day will consist of a formal interview, group exercise & an ice breaker exercise. I'm wondering if anyone is here who is a recent recruit and can give me any hints or tips on passing this stage. all I know so far is that I should familiarise myself with the CVF. any advise would be really appreciated.

Hi folks, just a quick question as cannot find answer anywhere. I have 3 points on my driving licence. Will this be a problem when applying/going through vetting? Cheers!

Hey! I heard word today about my fitness test and PSET, short notice but it’s looking to be next week. Any advice on times for the fitness test?? Been advised it will more than likely be the 1.5 mile run.

Hi I have my PSET and fitness test next week, have been studying over the last week or so as it came out of the blue. Just wondering where my time would be best spent studying with regard to math mainly and if it’s calculator or not. Appreciate any help

Hi can anyone who has recently done the Police Scotland Pset exams give me a little advice. What is the main type of maths questions ? Are the maths questions multiple choice ? Im currently using the police training Scotland Pset books , if anyone else has used these then how accurate are they to the test both in difficulty and types of questions relating to the language maths and information handling ? Any advice or input would be appreciated as has been ten months and counting since passing paper sift so hoping will get an invite to Pset and fitness soon. Cheers Grant

Good day all, I submitted my Specials form at the start of this month (March 2021), I've not had any word back yet and was wondering if anyone knows if this is due to the COVID situation causing delays? Also wanted to see if anyone has been through the recruitment process fairly recently (especially during COVID 19) and can give me an insight? Thanks, B
