Good evening all, Last night I stopped a couple of people for driving without due care by tailgating. Person A had been driving nine months, already on three points and already completed a driver awareness course. Only option is another FPN were the dvla will revoke their licence due to getting six points within two years. Nice and simple. Person B is a little more complicated. They have been driving less than two years. Lost their licence for medical reasons but didn't know. Car seized and points for no insurance. Retook test and passed two weeks ago. Currently on six points and already completed driver awareness course. Only option was another FPN giving them nine points. My question is, will the dvla revoke their licence again, or are they allowed to get another six (so 12 in total and then totting up?). Hope that makes sense, bit of a rush as in between customers.

So, what's the crack with driving licences issued by other EU Countries? A Latvian chap moves to the UK with his Latvian driving licence. Does he have to change it to a UK licence if he stays over 12 months? How does he do this? What is the offence if he doesn't change it? Thanks Edit: Had a look on direct gov and it appears the 12 month rule is for non EU licences. For EU licence they have 3 years to exchange for a UK licence. Any traffic guys able to confirm this for me? Edit again: It looks to me like they do not need to exchange at all unless they are over 70 years old! " Great Britain residents and visitors If you are a resident in Great Britain and providing your Polish driving licence is full and valid, you are permitted to drive in Great Britain on a Polish driving licence until 70 years of age or for three years after becoming resident in Great Britain, whichever is the longer period " Anybody able to clarify? I'm getting all confudled!
