Hi, Just getting my next two weeks of study prepared for my assessment centre :-) When I visited a station we spoke with a probahtioner who stated he was a 'Reponse Officer' - now I know that there are many different roles you can do at the rank of constable but I was wondering if someone could name some of these for me. Hope I make sense! For example you have Community Officers and SNT's etc. Is there a specifc structure? Thanks guys!

Did anyone read this the other day about English officers facing discrimination north of the border? Not sure how rampant it is or if it's just another sensationalist article but as an English(wo)man coming north, I do worry.....

The chief constable of Strathclyde Police has been appointed to lead the new Police Service of Scotland. Stephen House, 54, is expected to take up his role with the new force, which formally comes into being next April, in the autumn. His appointment was confirmed by the Scottish Police Authority. Mr House said he was "delighted" to accept the £208,000-a-year role which will see him lead the UK's second largest police force. Speaking after his appointment was confirmed, Mr House said: "My views on the creation of a single Police Service of Scotland have been widely publicised so it gives me great professional pride to be trusted with the responsibility for developing …

I'm still waiting to hear if I've passed the paper sift. Applied in July and called to today to be told that my application is currently being sifted and I should find out if I'm succesful in the next two or three weeks. Good to have an approximate timeline as the waiting game isn't easy In the meantime, just being trying to do my homework and work on my 1.5 mile run time, only tried it three times and I'm just finishing at 12 minutes but hope to shave at least a minute off that. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat. Also wondering if anyone has recently been invited for SET/fitness as I'd be interested to hear when these are going to take place. Slightly w…
