Sent my application in for Grampian a few weeks ago and just wondering if anyone else has done so and how long they had to wait before hearing anything.

Hi guys, I have my inital in less than 2weeks and tonight i'm going to my local station to speak to a probationer & takes notes. Iv complied a list of questions to ask but knowing me i'll forgot to ask the most important ones. What are the most useful things to ask? Dont want to miss anything out! Stressing already and want as much info as possible to study with. Thanks

I've had a Specials application in with Grampian Police since November, it is currently held up at the medical stage just now and I suspect that I may miss/have already missed the most recent intake. So, I was just wondering if there are any other applicants who are still going through recruitment who applied around November time? If so, what stage are you at? Or, is there is anyone who has applied more recently, and if so, what kind of stage is your application at? I suspect that this post might echo through the cavernous Grampian forum (given the lack of activity over the last six months), but I'm hopefull nevertheless! Yours anticipatorily, Bouquaine

Hi everyone, Does anyone know how much your credit rating affects vetting? Im not at the vetting stage yet (SETS/Fitness next week & hoping to pass) Thing is, since moving into our own house a year and a half ago we struggled a bit a first with all the extra bills and have to say my credit rating is prob awful. Missed a few payments, been late with a few and have a couple of credit cards. My own fault entirely! Will this mean an automatic fail? Its got me feeling a bit down and im not as excited about next week as i should be as i feel it might all be for nothing Would hate to pass everything then fail vetting

For a short time only Central Scotland Police are recruiting again. They have to fill 36 posts by the end of March 2011. If you are interested then visit their website, download an application and email it in to their recruiting email address: recruiting@centralscotland.police.uk First come, first served.

Hi everyone, What are they looking for in particular with this question? What do you like about the area and is it unique? It's not my force area nor a neighbouring force. So far I can only think of 2 things; -Diversity? Edinburgh being a main city, the rural surrounding areas? -Second largest force? lots of professional opportunities? Thanks

Are they: 1. Serious crime & terrorism 2. Public Protection 3. Road Policing 4. Violence, disorder & antisocial behaviour And are you asked to elaborate on these or just list them off? Just asked a friend whos nearly finished his probation to double check i had the right info and hes given me a totally different list. Confused!

Facebook link here Personally I think it's a great idea. Reading through the press release and there's about a 90% drop in time taken up for officers in court purely because of the video evidence. What do the serving officers think of them if you have used them?

Hi everyone, Has anyone else got the same dates? Bit scared about the run, im just about managing it by the skin of my teeth!! :smiley_vomit: Do we get told on the day if we have passed SETs? As iv been reading some other posts and it looks as though everyone does both then they write and tell you if you have passed the SETs? Thanks

Morning, I've used the search function and pretty much all expenses threads for strathclyde cover travel, with some mentioning food but not going into any detail... I've been claiming my travel expenses since i joined, but we never went over refreshment expenses during training so i've never claimed any... can anyone clarify the refreshment expenses? i've had a look at the SOP last time i was on and the wording really isn't clear. Do you get them if you do a shift over "a normal duty of four hours", or only if your held on for X hours? So if, for example, i was to do a 10 hour shift, would i be able to claim for the rate as set out in the SOP for 10 hours?
