After a looonnnggg wait since I applied to Strathclyde Police, I am happy to say that I will be at Jackton for my first day on the 26th September. Anyone else joining on the September intake?

I have my initial fitness on the 20th sept which shouldn't be to much of an issue. Anyone any ideas when the initial interview will be after that? Any pointers on what to study/what type of questions i'll be asked? Thanks in advance

Does anyone know if theres a December intake? Or do they skip December due to Christmas?

Hey all. I was just wondering if anyone else has got their assessment centre day tomorrow? I am super excited, I cannot believe how quick the process has been. I had a question for you guys though. I was reading on the Grampian site about an application review. Is this another interview if your medical is successful or is this something that the recruitment folks do without me? Any tips for the assessment centre? Cheers folks :D

Does anyone know anything about forces training up "Custody Constables" to work alongside PCSOs? There was me thinking the point of PCSOs was to avoid having cops in there.

Hi, I'm 19 and just applied for the L&B Special Constables, It has always been a dream of mine to join the police to become a Police Constable however, through many conversations with police officers in East Lothian I was suggested to apply for the Specials first so I have done so. I completed my vetting application today and whilst doing it I didn't know that my half sister had a criminal conviction. I don't have much contact with her so I'm just wondering how badly she has narrowed my chances of getting a pass. Hi Folks, I have been looking for any posts on the above topics to no avail. Have any serving Specials heard about the proposed Independant Patrol Status (IPS) coming into affect? Whats the thoughts on the new force coming into place from April 2013? I've not heard or beent old much internally. Regards

Been quiet here for a while! Im just about to organise a couple of station visits in preparation for my A/C in September. Did anyone who followed this route bring along a list of questions? And did you go suited and booted or smart/casual? I'm well aware that even on station visits you are being watched and feedback may be sent back to the recruitment team, so being professional and efficient would be a must. Been doing lots of research to into force structure and policing issues but still have lots to do!
