Hi guys, Just a quick question - despite only just passing the paper sift, I'm wanting to prepare myself in advance in the event I do make it through to the final stages. Do you feel I should be knowledgable on my home force (Tayside) as well as L & B? Thanks

Also do they refer to your application form and ask you questions about it? Any help would be much appreciated i've been preparing for the last couple of weeks so hopefully i've looked everything up!!

Hey everyone Got my letter yesterday stating my fitness test and sets would be the 27th march but earlier last week they told me when i called that i would be 5th april so i had arranged it off work so when i contacted them to explain the situation they were really great and rescheduled me back to the 5th april again. I went to Jackton yesterday to look at the route for the fitness test and we werent sure whether it is twice and a bit round or three and a bit does anyone know?

hello hello Just wondering for the ladies out there does it have to be a suit for the interview. We were told at fitness/SETs that it should be a skirt or trouser suit? Anyone know if a smart dress and suit jacket would do just as well.? Also should hair be tied back? Trivial questions I know but I want to go in feeling confident

Good day ladies and gentlemen. I thought it was time we made ourselves known to one and other. We could potentially be sharing bunk beds for 10 weeks after all!! ;-) I passed my medical on Monday and have final fitness on Friday 9th December. Im going up on Monday to get fit for my uniform which is undoubtedly the most exciting part of the process so far!! :-D What stage are the rest at? Cheers, Andy. B-)

Just a general question; when you send off your app form, it asks you for your current financial status, but I take it when they come to check this at vetting it is going to have changed to some extent from when you first applied. Does this have any affect on the application? I take it that it's fine as long as your house hasn't been repossessed or you've been declared bankrupt!

Hi all. I'm trying to find out if Scottish Police forces are "Home Office" forces? I have been thinking about applying to Strathclyde as a reg for a while now. Just wondering should I fail any stage of the process would I be barred from applying to other Home Office forces in England say, for 6 months. If you fail any stage in England or Wales you have to wait 6 months to re-apply. But if Strathclyde is non home office is it still the same? Thanks.

Got my letter yesterday 5 weeks after i put my application in. Looks quite generic. Regret to inform. Reserve the right to reject & i can reapply in 12 months. They dont give any reasons why. Im going to write in & ask what i need to work on. Running the 1.5 mile in 9 minutes as well. Put masses of work into it, reading scottish police books. Bit of an anti climax. Good Luck guys !

Well in keeping with previous intakes and tempting fate with medical/final fitness still to go, thought I'd start the ball rolling...who's conditional for April then?

Anyone know when the sets / fitness will be for regular recruitment? Also when it comes to the medical test do they look at your medical history?
