Hey all, Im just at the stage were Im sending my application. Been reading on different forums about people buying pass papers and dvds on how to pass the interview. Not getting my hopes up that Ill get an interview but just starting to look now just incase. Has anyone applying in Strathclyde police done this? it seems on the forums that it is more people south of the border?? Is doing your own research enough or do these DVD things on how to pass really help. Any views and thoughts would be much appriciated. Would be good to hear from people who have passed with and without the help of these aids. thanks Claire

Hey there I sat my SET and fitness last week and passed both, and now have my initial interview next week. Im still awaiting the letter confirming the details and telling me what to bring etc, but a time and date has been set. Does anyone know a rough timeline for the whole application process, should i pass the initial and move onto the next stage? I understand vetting times can vary - but if im lucky enough to pass next week, when could i expect to be called in for a final iterview, and how much longer after that would be the final fitness medical? Lastly, should i pass all of that, when could i expect to be invited to Tulliallan to begin training, do they have set…

Passed final today . Conditional offer for 9th may anyone else in? Medical and fitness permitting of course!!!

Hi, I'm wanting to join Tayside Police as a special constable but I have a few questions I'd like answered before I fill out the application. 1 - I'm currently a student at the University of Abertay; Would that in any way hinder my application in to the force? 2 - Although I live in Dundee during term time, I usually spend my holidays (Christmas, Easter and maybe Summer) at home in Yorkshire. What would be the force's stance on this situation? Would I be required to stay in my force area? Thanks a lot for you help

Hi, I have my uniform fitting tomorrow and was wondering if anyone can help me re what shoes to wear. The letter says to take dress shoes but what are they?! People are saying they are just for the ceremony? Nic

6 months to the day from submission of application, it has finally arrived...Thurs 23rd for final fitness, scary to think everything we've been through and achieved all hangs on that last 1.5 miles...or bleep if the snow doesn't beat it! Anyone else up on that day or this week?

Yay, recruitment has reopened for the regs!!

Initial Fitness 3rd Nov, Interview 6 days later, still at background checks!! I'm already a Strathclyde employee and they said they were fast-tracking but still waiting and recruitment won't give anything away. How long did most people wait? Also anyone already within the force and did you have to work your notice? Mine will be coming up for 7 weeks shortly. Just getting nervous now and not sure if anything will happen before Xmas holidays.

Hi Guys Im just looking to find out about driving offences, my fiance had to have lawyers involved to get a speeding fine points taken off his licence and i think he just paid a fine as he was near the maximum limit before your licence is taken from you but it was acceptable for him just to pay the fine through the courts and his licence was never taken from him. Im just thinking though how much do you think this will affect me and I didnt put it in my application as there wasnt a relevant section and actually it has just came back to my mind. Thinking of phoning Jackton to let them know not sure if relevant. Thoughts?

Just wondering if there is any 18 , 19 Year old specials in Small towns in Strathclyde Force , I am really interested in becoming a special and hopefully a regular in a few years , though I am not sure what its like policing in a small town around people you know and were brought up with. Advice would be appreciated

Ie is it worth taking a laptop or would you nnot use it? The list also sad to take white t shirts and bblack shorts for pe. How many do you reckon you need? Cheers
