Does anyone know where this is done from? On the January intake and will be moving my family up from Lincolnshire. Just wondering if they'll let me know a bit earlier to give me time to sort accommodation out.

Anyone got an idea on how the selection and recruitment processes might change in 2013 Taken from the recruitment page " It is anticipated that the implementation of the new single police service, Police Scotland, in April 2013 will result in some changes to the selection and recruitment process however, at this time it is still too early to provide anything definitive in terms of detail." Been catching up with posts. I failed my fitness in October so have to wait a year now and so jealous. Think I would have been in the February intake if I had passed the fitness. I have signed up for a running group. Had never ran before until I started training for my fitness. Running group starts on 19th Jan so hopefully by the time October comes around again I will be able to run marathons. Here's hoping they are recruiting then as its all I've been thinking about

Well guys I think this could be the end of the road for me - after putting so much effort into this process and passing all other stages it is looking very likely I'll be rejected on medical grounds. I'm physically fit - but due to being diagnosed with OCD (psychological disorder) in my childhood and needing medication over a few years in my early 20's the OH Doctor has requested a report from my GP. I've been symptom free and fine for 3 years and I believe i have outgrown the disorder. The Doctor did say this was reassuring but I didn't get a good feeling from the discussion. From being on top of the world last week after passing my FPI down to this is devastating.…

These forums do my head in, this is the third time I've had to change my username as for some reason the forums keep locking me out. Then when I've tried to set up new accounts, when I get the validation email, the links don't work. Ah well, back on now as Samba19721 (formerly Samba72&Samba1972!) and looking forward to starting at Jackton on the 9th of Jan. Hello again to those that know me.

I have just gave up working doing door supervision. I really enjoyed doing it but i have always wanted to be a officer more. Has anyone else had to give up a full time or even part time job to become a SC? How do you feel about that?

Hi guys. First post, thought I'd better at lead say hi and introduce myself. My name is Lee and I've been lurking here for a wee while trying to get as much info as possible about the specials and the regulars. Ideally I'd love to join the regs but thought I'd try the Specials first to see if the police would be the right move for me. I've got a very quick question to ask. It says on the Strathclyde website that the training for the specials takes place over 12 consecutive Sundays, my question is, Is there any flexibility with the consecutive Sunday's? Obviously I'm hoping to apply but In my current job I'll soon be going onto do shift work instead of my usual Mon-Fri w…
