Hi all, A quick piece of advice if you can? On my application and SET disclosure form I didn't document any disciplinaries from my employment history, however I think I may have been remiss in failing to do so. If I had remembered at the time I would have disclosed this, but even now as it's came to light I'm struggling to remember whether the issue itself resulted in disciplinary action or was simply a bit of a telling off. The gist of it is that I had a meeting with a senior member of staff about my attendance (was off sick for a few days but failed to call one day - a little naive in thinking I wouldn't have to as I made them previously aware I wouldn't be attending …

Hi folks, not got an appointment date yet but passed pre-employment fitness so need to start thinking about Tulliallan. 1. Outwith the lecture times, fitness, etc on weekdays are you allowed to leave the grounds i.e. in the evenings for shopping/food etc? 2. Is there parking available? Is it possible to go back and forth to your car to get stuff? 3. Are you allowed to stay in the Tulliallan accommodation during the weekends? 4. What times are the gym facilities open? All evening on weekdays/weekends? 5. How much does the accommodation and canteen food cost roughly? I know these seem like daft questions but from what I've read on Tulliallan on the forums I really don'…

Hi Guys, I attended the Strathclyde Police initial fitness assessment the other day and passed. Before the assessment, we had to fill out a form regarding any previous convictions or fixed penaltys. I recieved a £60.00 fixed penalty, January last year, as a passenger not wearing a sealt belt and when I handed the form back to the lady from recruitment with this information, she gave a "look" of "no chance". Could this really affect my chances of progressing through the process of becoming a police officer, disregarding all other factors of possible knock back. I know it can sound like a made up story, but it wasn't anything along the lines of me being idiotic (altho…

Just a quick question for Specials and Regulars around Scotland. I'm currently a Special in D&G and have my final medical date tomorrow morning to final turn it into my day job. With all the forces merging I am assuming (hoping) issued kit will be consistent through out Scotland. For example in D&G the baton holders are just very basic nylon holder but my understanding is the bigger forces have Peter Jones leather ones? So what kit did everyone get as standard?

Hiya I'm curious to hear from anyone that has recently done the SET. When did you do it? Have you had your results and a date for the fitness yet? Thanks

This may seem a stupid question, but do Police officer in Scotland get free bus travel?

Ok, so t just have 2 questions. The push/pull test, is it just one push and one pull of 69kg's, or is there more to it? And also, I received my email inviting me to the SET, but the dress code attachment mentions the running kit for the fitness test. Does that mean you do your fitness test on the same evening as the SET, or is it on a separate day? Thanks for any help!

SOURCE: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinbu...ast/8573439.stm This got me thinking. I know that we're a small force, with no money, but surely we should have our own underwater search unit, seeing as the majority of fife has a coastline or at least a river.

Just wondering, have many of you put an application into the regulars since recruitment has opened back up? If so, how quickly have they gotten back to you, and if they have gotten back to you, are you at the SET/fitness/interview stage? Just trying to find out how quickly or slowly the process is going. I shall be putting mine in as soon as June is here, as long as recruitment is still open. Cheers, Craig
