Bit of a strange one, but I've noticed over the years that colleagues and friends who have went on to become regulars and go off to Tulliallan seem to lose a ton of weight. Not in any drastic sense, but they do look healthier. Anyone have any experience of this themselves? I'm putting it down to the lack of opportunity to binge eat/drink and the exercise regime they have.

Hi Well my names Stephen, I'm 19 from Glasgow and have lurked here for a while but never posted. Feel like I have put in applications for the police at the most inappropriate time with this merger going on! I have an application in with the old Strathclyde as a special and should also be starting with the SPA (Old SPSA) next month as a IT bod but they haven't got the new contracts for me to sign yet So whilst I'm waiting for them to get back to me I've started running to get the fitness up, hopefully I'll pass the application sift! So, hi

The POLICE Scotland uniform will comprise of the black wicking tops and black uniform trousers along with micro fleece with a non branded or logoed armour cover. A high visibility bomber blouson will be issued along with a sleeveless high visibility equipment carrier. Officers who do not yet have a de-branded armour cover must wear the sleeveless high visibility equipment carrier over the armour until the cover is de-branded, once the armour cover is de-branded the armour can be worn alone. In conditions where officers are working on traffic duties and on roads the high visibility bomber blouson must be worn in line with health and safety guidance (class 3 - with sleeve…

April Fools - Nelson caught me out (eventually). Unfortunately my elaborate and well devised article is untrue - an April Fools prank, there will be no response driving, public order or taser training for specials. Sorry Also - Chief Superintendent Drummond, Councillor James MacDougall, Mary Wallace and Cannochside Community Council are all made up, none of them exist Very interesting, special bashing aside... I presume that they won't be handing the courses out like sweeties as there is enough regs wanting them, but I certainly wouldn't mind response or public order training if the opportunity came up...

Well, after 37 years, Grampian Police is no more. Worked my last shift on Saturday evening and found it kind of strange at home time, knowing I would never wear the Grampian uniform again, (even though I don't actually wear a uniform, but you know what I mean). How was your last shift, and was anybody on here working at the time of the changeover?

Was speaking to a Sgt at my nick, he said under the new legislation, all new officers for Police Scotland require to be sworn in by a JP and have an Attestation. I also remember in the news seeing the CC being sworn in to the new force. If thats the case, when are we getting sworn in? Has anyone heard anything? Will be interesting if we havnt been sworn in and need to use our powers Obviously the old forces cease to exist at 0000 Sunday morning so we wi t have those powers. Is there somethig in place or has this been a major oversight?

I am just wondering if its Central that have the coloured cap badges. I was at T in the park a couple of years ago and noticed some cops with coloured cap badges. I didnt go up and say hello as I was 2 sheets to the wind. Just wondering as I collect badges. Anyone know which force if not Central? I have posted this in Tayside and Fife also.

Change is about Regular office based cops. (All ranks) Now have to nominate Friday late shifts that they are going to work in an operational setting. They must do 12 a year. All part of "violence reduction" Lots of visits to stores for some cops
