Strathclyde police have put a FAQ bit for recruitment after the 1st of April '13. Quite interesting but a bit vague understandably. From what I gathered; SET are looking to be replaced at some point, you can be posted anywhere, recruitment will be done across scotland, not just at headquarters - apart from that, everything is remained largely on par! Plus Tayside are recruiting already for PSoS officers... could be an indication that things are indeed, done locally, or they will be sworn in just before it comes into being so that the remain within the Tayside boundaries.

Some pictures of the various open days the force has been holding to commemorate the end of Strathclyde Police for those of you who may have missed them. A big hit with the younger members of the public. World Famous Strathclyde Police Pipe Band BTP also made an appearance; The Traffic Some Motorbikes Support Unit The Mountain Rescue Team; None of these are my photos, they were uploaded onto flickr by other folk; http://www.flickr.com/photos/seifracing/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/satrow/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/79534685@N06/ And to finish off, if you're really want to see an old fashioned panda... here's a B reg Police Granada …

I sat the SET a couple of weeks ago so just waiting to hear if I've passed and if so when I'll be doing the fitness test. I've been training for a while and can normally do the run easily but my time is rubbish. I'm only 45 secs over the time limit but I just can't seem to go any faster. I'm hoping that adrenalin will take over on the day but I'd feel so much better if I could get my time down now. Any suggestions on how to get my time down? I've also recently been getting a cramp like pain in my lower legs and in my cool down I can hardly walk. Yesterday was my worse run ever, I only managed a mile and could hardly walk. Any idea what this is about? Thanks

Hiya Guys, Have noticed a few topics about pretty much the same thing so thought I would post and pin this topic for all to look at before posting! To keep the area tidy please have a look before posting about something that has been done a few days before!! Interview: For the inteviews make sure you are dressed smart ie what would be known as buisness dress - Males: Shirt, Tie, Suit. Females: Shirt/Smart top, Skirt suit, Trouser suit. Make sure you know all about the divison you stay in and also the divison you would like to work. Local and force wide knowledge is paramount to say the least. Know how many officers there is, Regular and Special. Amount of Divisions.…

Hi folks, just looking for a bit of information, I previously failed the interview for regular Police Constable for Strathclyde Police, I have however decided to apply to the specials as i am currently studying full time. I was curious would i need to sit the SET again or would i go straight to the interview stage and the new fitness test if i applied as a Special Constable? Thanks

Hello. I'm new to this!. I have just recently passed my Fitness Test. I really enjoyed the experience of being at Fettes for the day. We had to do the run in the sleet and snow though but I kept my head down and went for it. I'm really chuffed because I worked really hard to make sure I passed. Dyno Push/Pull was OK too! Anyway, the next stage is the Assessment Centre. We have a 1 to 1 interview and then there are activities in the afternoon. I know we're tested on the competencies outlined on the website but I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice for this stage? I know it's as important as any other stage but I really want to nail it! Thanks.
