Alright guys Looking for abit of advice. I am 7 months in and based in Glasgow. My missus and our family are up in the highlands, my first choice was Highlands and Islands but I've been sent to Glasgow. This is having a massive strain on our relationship, what I'm basically wondering is...is there scope for movement during probation in certain circumstances?? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Leaving the Army (fairly) soon and looking to apply to join Police Scotland. I was wondering if anyone out there knew on the options for transfering my military pension pot across to Police Scotland (should I be successful). Any useful information greatly recieved as my HR staff don't really have a clue (on this issue). :)

Hi guys, Just wondering is anyone is part of N division? I've put N division as my first choice and really hope I get Inverness! If anyone works in Inverness could you give me some information as to what it's like to work in and also how many probationers are in Inverness. Trying to work out if I'll have a chance to be posted there if I'm successful.

Good evening all, Can anyone help me out please. I've just received a response from police Scotland about my application. It's been put on hold and sent to the vetting department due to the disclosures I made on my form about various driving points I've had in the past. I also had one incident almost 10 years ago when I stole a pool ball from a pub whilst drunk, never actually got charged with it just ordered to pay the pub back for the loss. The driving offences were all over five years ago as I now have no penalty points on record and the DVLA hold no record of these, so I had to put in estimated dates of the offence which I notified them about why I couldn't give exac…

Good Evening, A quick query that I have regarding the qualification that you obtain once completing your probationary period in Scotland. I was always under the impression it was a CertHE in policing but looking for someone a bit more knowledgeable. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Everyone, I am wondering what's the entrance exam like for police scotland? Is it hard or simple? As find that maths is one of my weak points in life and I dread doing that part of the entrance exam. Also does anyone roughly know the intakes for next year? Thanks James

So fitness test passed, Onto Initial interview. Doing all my reading up, Thinking of various examples for competency based questions, Remembering names etc. One thing they dropped a big hint on was speaking to officers, Specifically probationers. How would I go about this, Is it acceptable to call local station and ask to meet a probationary officer? What sort of questions should i be asking to learn about "job knowledge" for the interview. Any other tips
