I see that the new unique identifiers are going to be issued over the next 6 months. The info stated most numbers would stay the same but have the divisional letter as a prefix. Specials will also have divisional prefix but a four digit number with the first digit the same for all Specials - not sure I should reveal it here - if you want to know look at the news page of Police Scotland intranet!

Anyone know anything about PSOS's opinion on SC's working within airports or border command? Thanks

Hi all, I am currently a Special Constable with Police Scotland, with 1.5 years service. I've just started filling out the application form to join Police Scotland as a PC, and was just looking for some advice with regards to including details of my experiences as a SC in my application. I don't want to run the risk of talking about the specials too much, as I know it's important to include my non-policing experiences. However I do know of a fellow SC who failed his PC interview, and was told he didn't speak enough about his experiences as a special and how these had helped him develop. I just want to make sure I have the balance correct, so I'm not relying too much on…

Can officers use their warrant card for travel on the Edinburgh tram like in Glasgow and London transport services?

How is the new PNC on one channel going to work? I cant see it being better than the current system of shouting up/requesting callback on current channel, will we be expected to change channel to get a PNC? If so can see that causing issues when single crewed/potential assistance calls whilst on PNC channels.

Quick question, are Police Scotland still giving their officers an annual pay increment? Also are the increments still spaced over 10 years ?

Came across this recently uploaded video on YouTube and I have to say I was quite shocked watching it... and that's just at the cops! I personally think the officers ost skills are pretty poor. Several officers trying to arrest an aggressive male and you have an officer trying to keep a crowd back himself and not doing a very good job about it. At one point he walks away entirely allowing 2 very aggressive females standing directly behind the arresting officers, shouting and swearing at them. So opinions please on your take? Are cops on the streets less likely to make full use of their ost and if so why? I've seen similar incidents to this with cops being stand offi…

Hi, I recently (end of January) was turned away from Police Scotland after the initial interview stage. I know where I went wrong and have had some feedback. I have also had a station visit and I'm now in contact with some serving officers for advice. I am aware that re-applying can only commence 12 months after initial rejection. However....! I am now wanting to apply as a Special Constable and I'm able to fit it around my current career. Do i still have to wait 12 months or do I only have to wait 6 months? (As that is the waiting period for being turned away while applying as a special) Any info would be much appreciated! Andy
