Hi all, new to this site. All looks very helpful. I have submitted my competency based application and have been successful. I now have my Standard Entrance Test and Fitness Assessment at the end of February. I am researching what to expect from the fitness assessment and am finding conflicting info. I'm wondering if any has been through this part of the process recently and can fill me in on what to expect from both parts of the day? Is the Dyno machine part of the fitness assessment or does this only form part of the final fitness test prior to being offered a post? I'm fairly sure I will be doing either a 1.5m run or the bleep test at this stage. I have downloaded the…

Just wondered if anyone knew what sort of date they start the training. I'm hopeing to get into the Oct intake for specials but might be booking a family holiday in the school holidays in Oct. Don't want to miss any training (if I get in)! Do they start the training beginning of month or perhaps after school holidays? Thanks

Hi there, I'm looking to become either a Special Constable or Police Constable within the next year or two providing everything goes well. Now the real question for me is "Can I join the police and go anywhere in Scotland?" Or do I get told where to go? I've tried asking this on the Police Scotland website, I've called up the police and no one has been able to tell me. Thanks for your assistance

Got my medical on the 24th Sep! Anyone on here able to give me a brief insight on what happens on the day? Also, have you to turn up in suit and tie or can you appear in jeans and causal top? I was going to do a few shuttle runs for my fitness but not sure if the run is in 15m's or 20m's during the fitness test. Does anyone know which it is? Tah very much!

Hi Folks! Calling all fellow applicationees ( no such word), probationers and serving officers who have gone through the recruitment process fairly recently. I just thought I'd start a thread so anyone else going through the recruitment process like me could share their experiences. I applied to LBP and have A/C next in a few weeks. I have had some great advice from some people already so thanks! Anything and everything helps . I recently applied to Police Scotland for the regulars and was rejected at Vetting due to a non-disclosed incident To put you in the picture, I am a 25 year old female and I was sexually assaulted when I was 18. I was involved in an investigation but the culprit could not be found and the case was left as unsolved to the best of my knowledge. I declared my involvement with the police on this matter on the vetting form but they advised that it was unrelated and that it was due to another undisclosed incident.
