Hi all, Just wondering if anyone in GMP knows if the Cadets are still being done, tried to contact the cadet email for Bolton Cadet Scheme but had no response and I have tried to email for over a few years and had no response at all. Regards OWEN

I'm after a bit of advice regarding GMP divisions & police stations please from those in the know. I'm due to start traing with GMP (regs) soon. I have already submitted my 3 divisional choices. Trafford, City of Manchester & Stockport, in that order. I know that in Trafford there is 2 police stations i could be posted to, Altrincham or Stretford. Can anybody tell me which police stations i could be posted to if i got CoM or Stockport divisions? Since submitting my choices a few months ago ive spoken to a few serving officers who have questioned why i put Trafford as first choice. My reason is purely geographical. Think I've spoken to a couple of people, but who is waiting to hear back about the October intake? I applied in February and still waiting to hear back from the final background checks, hope it isn't full by the time they are completed otherwise it's a wait until January.

Hi guys, soon to start my training on the 9th of October and was wanting some insight on what boots people are getting? I've been strongly advised to go with some LOWA's but there is that many out there it's hard to decide haha. If anyone does have LOWAs which ones in particular? Thanks

Hello everybody. I've recently been told that I've been allocated a division which was not my first, second or third preference, and that these decisions cannot be changed. Has anybody ever experienced this? My allocated division is less than convenient and is actually quite impractical. Have many SCs received areas that they didn't want, and have HR been flexible or quite restrictive? I thought, being a volunteer, they'd be quite flexible?

Hi Everyone, I've tried to find this out from looking around, but can't find anything that is specific to GMP. Can anybody put up a general shift pattern for a new officer after training please? (obviously, if there is such a thing as general) I'm sure this is a question that every new recruit must have before being accepted. Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, I am considering transferring from South Yorkshire to GMP. Naturally there a lot of questions I have which aren't answered on their website, if there is anyone who had made the jump across the Pennines then that would be awesome. Questions I have: Response/SNA - Are these separate departments or have these been merged into one similar to our Local Policing Teams? What is the shift pattern? Hi everyone, I'm trying to re-apply for the Police Officer recruitment that has come and ends on the 12th March. On the previous recruitment I had passed every stage but I have failed my final interview. As unlucky as it sounds, my 6 months would of been over on the 23rd March. So I'm missing it by 11 days... Do you reckon they'd have any discretion in this matter? My final interview date was delayed further back meaning my 6 months started later than it should aswell. It's just frustrating how I'm only missing it by 11 days! Thank you.

Simple question i hope. Does anyone know if GMP are going to recruit for regulars this year, and if so does anyone know when that is likely to be? I've emailed 3 different Constabularies asking about PC recruitment this year and 2 got back to me very quickly with a 'No", but GMP haven't answered despite me trying 3 different email addresses.
