Did anyone from the forum go. I went between 10;45 and 14:00 it was excellent, especially the mini fire engine, everyone loved it even the adults. :D The band was pretty awesome too, can't wait for next year.

Hello all, Just wondering if anyone can help me out with some advice. So I completed my medical examination 3 weeks ago, and the doctor's who examined me said that all seems great, there are no problems and my results from my audio/eye sight/BMI amongst many will be passed onto recruitment. I was just wondering what happens next? I have been offered a provisional offer with GMP. Dates have been selected for 'Welcome evening' etc. Do I just sit and wait until the dates come up? or do I have to attend another session/await feedback? Also, If anybody can help, I am currently a university student and if I am successful in becoming a Special, I know that I must commit to…

Hi, Could anyone tell me a bit about the training that you do once you start your role as a special?. I have just passed my assessment part. I have still to perform my bleep test next week and was wondering about how long the training lasts and what it is like. Thanks, Brian.

Hi, Just a quick question for anyone in the know please. Bleep test =50 feet shuttle run for till level 5.4? Because I have measured 50 feet, put traffic cones on both sides of 50 feet. Now I am a reasonably good sprinter but there is no way on earth I have been able to run back and forth 50 feet in time with the beeps. I can run for 3m 50 sec no problem but the beeps are too fast. Am I doing something wrong? Please help!

Hi, hopefully someone can answer my question, I rang recruitment today to find out whereabouts I am at my vetting stage! They told me it's complete and I should hear something by the end of the week! And wasn't giving much away!Does this mean I'm in? Someone put me out of my misery

Hi All, Currently a serving Special in Lancashire, but looking into moving to GMP. Just wondering if anyone knows whether it's possible to directly transfer from one force to another, or whether I'd need to go through the whole application process again? I know most forces accept transfers from regulars (I've worked alongside regs who have transferred from other forces), but not sure if the same applies to Specials? Cheers, Andy

Hello, Just recently passed my fitness test at GMP, as well as passing my application, interview and assessment leading up to that. I am aware the next stage is a medical examination and then does anybody know what is next? Im guessing its the actual intake dates for operational training? Does anyone know what the dates usually are for this? I was told a while back that they have a choice of dates, one being within the summer break period, I need this to be the case as I am currently a student, and I have been told I must attend for 9 days of training. If anybody knows any advice for the next steps, please comment Thanks

In the Special Constabulary, how much authority does rank bring? Would a Special Inspector have authority over a regular PC for example? Or is it more like an award for good service?
