Hi all Just passed my btp assessment and submitted my vetting. Been employed as police staff for 6 yrs now and CTC and SC vetted. Little concerned about BTP vetting after reading some horror stories, got 1x CCJ which is fully paid and shown as settled/satisfied due to fall off dec 2015 and 3x defaults 2x fully paid 1x has £60 left. I have fully declared all this on the form. No criminal record or traffic offences, perfect PSD record with no substantiated complaints. I know vetting is a minefield but what's the general take on me passing vetting? Cheers all.

27th November 2014 The BTPA has responded to a report released today that has recommended the functions of the British Transport Police in Scotland will be a devolved matter. The Smith Commission, led by Lord Smith in consultation with the Scottish Parliament’s five parties was set up to recommended a package of powers that should be devolved to Scottish Parliament. Millie Banerjee Chair of the British Transport Police Authority said: “The Authority will be keeping a close eye on this matter and will provide any assistance necessary to the DfT whilst the UK and Scottish government discuss this recommendation. “Until then it is business as usual for the BTP.” Link: ht…

I have a 2 part question regarding vetting and was after people's advise and anyone who may have had similiar 1. Re my father I've not seen/spoke/heard from him in 18 years, I have put his name and DOB on the vetting form, and also mentioned not having any contact for such a long period. If anything came back for him, would this impact my application at all as I have had no dealings or contact for such a long period of time? 2. Someone in my family got done for drink driving back in 1990, again would this have any impact on on my application at all? (I ave declared this on the form)

Hi I failed vetting yesterday for a police staff role within the BTP. The reason i was given because i failed to disclose a conviction, caution or police related matter. i have however never had any of the above the only thing i can think of is when i got pulled over by the police for my rear windows on my vehicle being tinted to darkly i argued that the rear windows on your car could be any level of tint and the only restrictions where on the front windows of a car mine where not tinted. i was issued a fine which i believed to be a fixed penalty notice but sent it back (with a note explaining what happened) to them because i wasnt in agreement with the reasons i was i…
