Hi all, Just wondering if anyone else is hoping for a D Division intake this year? Passed my assessment centre last week and have also done my uniform fitting and consent for references, now in a holding pool. Anyone in a similar position/know how long roughly they have you on hold prior to medical and vetting? Cheers!

Looking for advice re the medical. How strict are they with BMI and/or fat percentage? Currently working to lose weight but just wanted clarity. I saw a document that said ideally 18-30 BMI but anything over 36 would be investigated. Can I take that as up to 36 is a pass?

Hi, just had my condtional offer accepted and got my intake for October 16th, I’m in C division so getting Transport and accommodation paid for but I was just wondering what happens at weekends, do they pay for travel home or do we just spend the weekend in the accommodation. Also does anyone know the split of how many weeks are in London and how many are remote learning at home e.g 2 weeks in London 2 weeks at home?

Hello. Does anyone know when recruitment for Specials (Eng & Wales) is likely to open? Or further to that, PCs? (This thread can be used for this purpose if people are applying). The recruitment team have said that they recruit regularly, but that was mid-December.

I was thinking about terrorism the other day and where/when will be next hit. I thought that the stations haven't been for a while. Then I was thinking how BTP often work on their own or miles away from backup. The other two national/special police forces (MDP & CNC) are armed, so surely BTP should be by now? Just a pistol for each officer and heavier backup should be best, maybe the rifle in the car, similar to PSNI. Imagine if there is a very dangerous armed person or terrorist, attacking at a station and there is no real HO locals present/available. Most other rail/mass transit police agencies are armed in the West, a few in Canada are not…

Hello, So I managed to get past the application and the maths/English tests and I have got my email for the assessment centre - just doing as much research as I can. Anybody else in the process? If any current or former BTP are here, do you have any tips? What should I focus on? I know a lot about BTP from research, and I think I understand who they are and what they do pretty well. The fitness test seems fine, 5.4 shouldn't be an issue, but I am still going to do some practice runs before the day obviously! Medical should be fine also. I am currently police staff in my local HO force, quite new to the role but as soon as I joined…

A particular question. Can you transfer your live PC application, to a Special one, do you know? Or would you have to go back to square one and do the whole process again? I can imagine you would with another force, but what about the one you are already in? Thanks for any knowledge.
