Stage 1 – Application form and Competency Based Questions Stage 2 – Assessment Centre This is a 1 day assessment centre and includes the PIRT, i.e. written communication, numerical reasoning and verbal reasoning papers, and a competency based interview. There are no role plays. Stage 3 – Medical/Fitness Fitness test is the national standard bleep test and push/pull. Medical does include a cough and drop. The eyesight standard may be more stringent than that required of local forces due to BTP officers operating on the railway environment. Stage 4 - The Waiting Game Finally comes the part where you wait for reference checks and vetting results to come back and w…

BTP Reference Sheet 1 2

After reading through the "What you need to know about Byelaws" thread, I thought a pocketbook reference would be nice to have, so I made one. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1r5jI4-66n9ajzKpeyj4uCcFY_7qiG4aD7z4cDCVVna0/edit?usp=sharing Please, take a look and I welcome your comments on it, and would appreciate if people could check it over for accuracy as well, I tend to miss my own mistakes! Also, there is a bit of spare space on the final page, any extra notes I should add you think by be useful for an officer using this reference? Once I'm happy with it, I'll shrink it down onto A5 or something to make it PNB sized (for my force anyway!) and the…

Hello, looking for advice and tips from officers that have been through the Scottish side of training with BTP. I am in the conditional pool with recruitment team giving a prospective intake of April 2021, I applied in January 2020. As I am going to be based in Scotland, the training will be in Scottish Police College in Tulliallan, where Police Scotland are trained. I would like to know how you found it, are you training with PScot officers aswell or will it be seperate? BTP state the training is 21 weeks, however PScot are only in the college for 11 weeks (as their website states), why is that? The rail part of the training, is this conducted on station? I would l…

B Division (Kent) Start Date 2020

Hi - sorry if this isn't posted in the right place, I've just signed up to this forum. I started the application process for a PO in March 2020, was offered the job in May and have since passed all of the vetting and health checks (in June). I've been told to wait to hear for a posting and start date and haven't been given any inidication whether it will be this year or even next year. Is anyone in a similar position or can anyone tell me what the average time it takes for a posting/start date to become available once all checks have been carried out? I've spoken to the recruitment team but they're not providing me any details at all. Cheers!

Specials Intake 25 - 05 Sept 2020

Hi all, In early May, I submitted my application to join the BTP Specials and this week I have accepted the offer; I’m due to start training at Spring House on the 5th Sept. Excited With a touch of nerves haha. The recruitment process was slick - very little waiting, and a proactive approach to get it done in these challenging times; phone interview, self-certified fitness, occy health interview etc. I’m told that when we start training, we will have to do the full medical and fitness test. I’m due to be based out of C Division, therefore accommodation should be booked for me, apparently (TBC). Is anybody else on here joining me on the intake? I b…
