Hi All, Just wanted to start a thread to see if anyone has information on when BTP might offer intakes to those in their Conditional Offer Pool for Police Officers? I attended and passed their assessment centre on May 18th 2019, have gone through medical but waiting on an intake so I can then go through vetting. I anticipated a long wait and just looking forward to getting that offer now but wanted to see if anyone else was in same boat and if they had any information? I'm in the B Division pool. I noticed they're doing another recruitment campaign so perhaps this means we will be offered a place soon? Any advice would be grateful. Thanks All.

Hello, I was invited to go to a practice workshop on Monday, this is for the Glasgow area.. I am really excites as this would really help in getting some practice and a insight in how the interviews are conducted. It also gives time to reflect and improve for the actual assessment such as the presentation. I have been studying and practising. I was wondering who else from the Glasgow area is going on Monday?

Hello 😁 Have just heard my online tests were successful and I now have the assessment centre in December. Does anyone know whether the competency based interview and presentation is only in front of the recruitment panel or whether the presentation is in front of the other applicants also? Dean

Hello, I was browsing online and I noticed that the BTP are recruiting in my area. I am going to apply. In the application they have a competency based questions. Where would the best place to research be to check the competencies for the BTP police, it is for a Police officer role in the BTP. Thank you.

Hello all, I’m a serving PC in the Met, currently in a firearms role. I’m looking in to the future and I am considering a possible transfer to BTP firearms or possibly regular response work (to avoid having to travel in to Central London). At the moment I’m keen to explore both options but it would make more career sense to keep up the firearms competency and go to ARV side perhaps. Can anyone shed any light in to what the general morale of both areas of the force are like and what life is like on the ground? Does anyone also know where BTP firearms are based out of in London? Im also keen to find out where standard BTP bases are out in Bedfordshire/Hertfor…

Hi all, question specific to BTP vetting.. what are my chances in passing police vetting, specifically BTP as I’m aware of how strict they can be -couple of defaults on my credit file from about 4/5 years ago. All paid off now.. No CCJ’s or anything like that. -mother has a conviction for possession of cannabis. She was convicted in 1985 . I’ve declared everything on vetting forms. Want to be upfront and honest as possible. ive never been in trouble from the police personally, just worried about my mother’s 1985 conviction. Could anyone shed any light on my chances, thanks in advance.

Hi All, Just thought I'd set a new thread up for anyone starting or hoping to start in 2019 - in the hope more people will appear back active on the forum! I am currently going through the process and hoping to start on the next SC intake (as a transferee but same intake). Anyone else?! Owen

I applied for a Communications Officer position and according to the website my application has been shortlisted and I'll be contacted with the details for the next stage shortly. Based on the information for the assessments I'm not too worried (though any advice or information about these us appreciated). I am however a little worried about the interview. At the information evening I attended they explained that the interview structure was STAR based and said a lot of people experienced and qualified enough for the job fail the interview because the examples they give aren't detailed or specific enough. STAR style questions are the one part of interviews I really st…

I recently attended a BTP Assessment Presentation and Interview (at the weekend) and was told I didn't pass the mark for PC however I did pass the mark for PCSO. Does anyone know what these are? I was told because it was the same assessment for all that .. (don't know how true this is) 50% and above for specials 55% and above for PCSO's 60% and above for PC's I guess I fell in the 55-59% Bracket as I got offered PCSO and told you've just fallen short, if anyone could clarify that would be brilliant! Also does anyone know if there is a right of appeal or anything? Thank you

Hi all, Currently in a HO force and been looking into BTP. I'm aware they're not recruiting transfers at the moment, but will keep my eye out on the website. Specifically interested in the London, MK and Birmingham areas. In regards to transferring in, I'm interested in the work of the OSU. I've got my level 2 ticket and a few more skills like PSU medic. I noticed a few months ago, BTP opened up recruitment for transferees to join the Welsh OSU (a bit too far for me). But does recruitment ever open up for transfers into the southern Operational support units? Also, does the force assist with transport in London? For exams, travel on warrant card or oyster c…

Hey guys Just a quick one I was wondering if any of you serving BTP officers could help/tell me if im on the right lines, I have my assessment day next Sunday to join as a student officer. One of the things I am researching is the difference between the work of BTP and HO forces. The main things that come to my mind is obviously it is a specialist role that comes with its own set of challenges and laws to be able to deal with railway specific crime and incidents, and that the BTP seems very customer focused, i.e working closely with the likes of Network Rail and TOC's on issues affecting them in order to deliver a better service. Any pointers you guys can add wo…
