Hi - sorry if this isn't posted in the right place, I've just signed up to this forum. I started the application process for a PO in March 2020, was offered the job in May and have since passed all of the vetting and health checks (in June). I've been told to wait to hear for a posting and start date and haven't been given any inidication whether it will be this year or even next year. Is anyone in a similar position or can anyone tell me what the average time it takes for a posting/start date to become available once all checks have been carried out? I've spoken to the recruitment team but they're not providing me any details at all. Cheers!

Hi all Hope everyone is well, my vetting has started so I presume I will likely be offered a position soon. The process has been very quick so far! I applied for regular at Manchester, completed interview via telephone on 25th April, Vetting started by Warwickshire police on 29th. Anybody else in the same position?

Hi all, In early May, I submitted my application to join the BTP Specials and this week I have accepted the offer; I’m due to start training at Spring House on the 5th Sept. Excited With a touch of nerves haha. The recruitment process was slick - very little waiting, and a proactive approach to get it done in these challenging times; phone interview, self-certified fitness, occy health interview etc. I’m told that when we start training, we will have to do the full medical and fitness test. I’m due to be based out of C Division, therefore accommodation should be booked for me, apparently (TBC). Is anybody else on here joining me on the intake? I b…

Hi All, i am on the August intake for PCSO I have been told the initial training is London based for 7 weeks, accommodation and travel is provided. Does anyone know where they put you to stay? What time if any you get to travel home? Thanks in advance Rob

Good Afternoon Everyone, I have my BTP interview in a couple of weeks. Due to COVID-19 the interview is taking place over the phone. I am just wondering if anyone has any tips. Im currently a Special Constable for Lancashire Constabulary. One major question that I am stuck on is 'How BTP is different from Home Office Police Forces'. Many Thanks!

Hi there, was wondering if there’s anyone else here on the specials intake for Scotland starting July 2020.

Anyone recently been through the online verbal and numerical reasoning tests? How hard are the questions for the numerical questions? What was the time limit to questions ratio? Anyone know of any online programmes that helped them practice for the tests? Many thanks.

Can anybody help with a question regarding changing an application from full time officer to special? I’ve been invited to complete the online testing but may need to change my application to a special due to my current workplace contract etc cheers (BTP)

Hello, Today was a disaster, I went to the BTP station where I thought the interview would have been and was told it was elsewhere. I was not told in the email where the interview was, this panicked me even further. I had been practicing everything but because of everything my mind went blank The presentation went ok but not as smooth, I looked back and could have done way better The competency questions went ok, I did some practice at home I am really upset to have failed, I put lots of effort in to this and now I have to wait 6 months or even longer depending when they are hiring again

Does anyone know if the unaided eyesight requirements still apply to the BTP? - the newest information i can find is that the college of policing has recommended that the unaided vision requirement is removed, so if was curious if anyone has had a recent medical and could confirm, as i probably would fail without my contacts in.

Is anyone due to start training in inner London in March?
