Hi, I have posted this here due to limited activity on the force specific forum. From looking on google it looks like Cheshire police recruit most years consecutively, does anybody share this observation? I am looking at undertaking the certificate in knowledge of policing this year with a view to applying next year if tradition would suggest they are likely to recruit? I don't really want to apply for another force, not be secuessful and not have the opportunity all to Cheshire because of the 6 month rule

I have heard rumours that if your PNB is left unattended, you could end up with graffiti drawn in it. These were confirmed when I saw the latest FB post by UKCH this afternoon. So my serious question is... Can this get anybody in trouble? Either the person who did it or the person whose PNB it is? I thought they were like official documents? And not so seriously... Have you ever done anything like this to anybody else's PNB or has anyone done this to yours? If so, what was the damage? Pics?

The local authoeirty in Manchester have introduced a PSPO which makes swearing or abusive language an offence with powers for an FPN or summons to be issued, two things I can't seem to find in depth details of who can issue. And secondly what are your opinions

Hi all, I am currently finalising my dissertation for my masters and would be grateful for some help if possible. Please see the below. If you would like to help I would be grateful if you would click on the link below and complete the questionnaire. The purpose of the study is to identify whether a mandatory arrest policy, as present in many States within America, works in reducing domestic violence incidents and if so whether it could work in England and Wales. The study is being conducted purely for an educational purpose and as part of the researchers MSc final dissertation in Criminology and Criminal Psychology. …

Hi all as a SC trainee I was wondering if you clean your kit differently to your normal clothes? Do some of you just separate it from other clothes or delegate it to the other half maybe you wash it at work or even at a laundrette? I'm just wondering due to blood etc getting on the kit and the potential for diseases to be carried.

My fitness test is coming up in 19 days for the CNC, I need to reach 7.6 on the bleep test... not daunting really. I have been going for runs in order to get my BMI down, and I am satisfied with the results. Now I am solely looking towards the bleep test. I am hoping to get a perspective of the best way(s) to prepare for the test. I can not use my local leisure center's gym hall as it is reserved for badminton, and their is nowhere suitable nearby to measure out 15m to test myself. Thanks in advance for any advice, and tips.

Hi guys, I'm new to this. Im starting as a special constable in January :) I Have a question.. Its mailny to do with the code of conduct and using your own initiative etc. Its been bugging me for a while, so thought I'd post the question on here. You're out on patrol and youre called to an incident in a corner shop. An 80 year old woman has been caught shop lifting. She stole bread and a chocolate bar, because she's poor and doesnt have any money. What would you do in this situation? Would you arrest the elderly lady for theft? or give her a warning not to do it again? give her a fine?, even though she doesnt have any money to pay the fine? I know the code of conduct …

Hello, I am pleased to say that recently I have got signed off from my tutorship and i am now onto the accompanied patrol phase. However, what exactly does the accompanied patrol phase mean? Does it mean that if i had to, I could go out with just PCSO's or does it mean I can go out on duty but only with any regular police officer? How does it work for your force? Obviously, I would rather go out just with regular officers because it reduces pressure on me but could I, in theory attend jobs with PCSO's only if say there was a shortage of nearby police officers? thanks

Hi all, I'm planning on organising a small informational event/recruitment event locally through the force, Kent, however was wondering from your experiences, what do you guys believe the best target audience for Specials is? IMO its those in late teens looking for a policing career and late 30's/early 40's however that's a bit of a gap. What's your opinions? I'd appreciate the feedback. Does anybody use police business cards to give to MOPs so they know who you are, what station and how to contact you with information at a later date? I am thinking of designing and printing some of my own with my name, rank, collar number, station and 101 number etc with force crest Are there any reasons why this should not be done?

I have got a Police shield/plaque who I believed belonged to an Officer from the now defunct United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority Constabulary. If the this item can be confirmed at authentic, then I hope to pass it onto the Civil Nuclear Constabulary who have taken on the role of the UKAEA Constabulary.

I've seen around a lot of praises, and a few complaints about the specials on the forum. I'm wondering; What made you want to become a special/regular? What moments have you had and thought, this is why I joined? Have you ever thought, this isn't worth it, and why? If this has been asked before, feel free to delete and point me in the right direction! - Pip.
