hi part of the specials recruitment in the latter stages is to choose your preferred station to be based from. There are three within 30min drive from my house one of which is the headquarters. Do different stations offer different opportunities? I would ideally like to get involved in rural policing but wouldn't want to miss the opportunity of potentially going out with traffics one day Should I go to where's most convenient or the headquarters which have more deprtments?

If a new Infrastructure Constabulary is set up and tasked to protect and police UK wide infrastructure environments can this put a stop to the wishes of Police Scotland taking over railway policing in Scotland?

Hi all, I know it exists but I cant seem to find it online (not search trained ha!) Im after the above info so I can really focus on the relevant subjects. To be clear this is completely legit and I believe the above info is used in paid crammer sessions etc.. so to clarify for example last years exam had xx% of GPD xx% OF E+P etc etc....so this year it is expected to be XX% of GPD etc.... or maybe its more precise that that? i.e xx% covered sexual offences etc.... I have found that Custody Sergeants are getting more reluctant to authorise detention for things like common assaults, lower level ABH, thefts and criminal damage etc where the only investigative requirement at the point of arrest is to interview the suspect (even for prolific offenders where we know where they live). The expectation is that we will voluntary interview and report for summons. I don't really mind this in general as I prefer to report people if possible and try to avoid locking people up if I feel it is disproportionate. Was thinking the other day how far policing has branched off from its militaristic routes. However I think sometimes something as basic as 5 minutes of parade before a shift can bring many benefits, which I found when I was in the Army and Police Cadets (now a Serving Special). Those could be: Basic kit / orderliness inspection Briefly identifies if people are 'switched on' i.e. can they move as one unit around a courtyard whilst carrying out a few drill instructions. In general terms, what's the general attitude of your service to officers searching police databases for information. A few examples: I spend lots of time looking for people, so I use our systems to get addresses, associates, vehicles. I also log on to Facebook to see who they're friends with and if recent posts might give a clue to where they are and how I might find them (we also have fake Facebook profiles and are friends with a fair few criminals, which gives a good insight into what they're up to). I have done quite a few shifts now, dealing with a whole range of incidents. However, the reg takes control (as expected) and it leaves me there as a spare part- which is the worst feeling ever. So, my question is.. How do you deal with an incident first on scene? I have had regs knock on the door and literally be like 'Hi, You called us' Is it literally as simple as that/ I think I overthink things a little too much. That's most likely why I am asking this question. All a learning curve though.

For what it's worth I'd like to explain my situation regarding my recent recruitment process experience. Fifteen years ago I was part of a stag group that were taking drunken dares and mine was to take a bottle of Champagne from a supermarket. Now obviously this was not the best thing to do I know and I was quickly apprehended, charged and fined for shop theft. Hi all, I'm due to resume training on Monday for 3 weeks and as such I'm needing to pack everything into a suitcase. I've just about fitted everything in, but I'm worried my hat will get squashed by all the other kit - the only place I could get it in was under my DPV so there's quite a lot of weight on it. Any suggestions for keeping it intact during the journey? Thanks in advance
