Hi I posted a previous questions around police pensions as if successful over the next few months I would be joining the police age 30. From what I have read and think I have understood a police office can retire after 25 years service with a pension providing he is at lease he 50. If a police officer has 30 years service he will get better pension and can retire before age 50. In terms of annual pension what would the difference be between having 25 and 30 years service? Could I transfer my current pension pot into the police scheme?

The title says it all really... As a prospective special/regular/pcso etc, you have it drilled into you that the job isn't all fun and games, and that you have been watching too much traffic cops! However, with the worst of the job comes the best of the job. What are some of your favourite memories and experiences that has made you say WOW!?

I'm getting toward the cusp of completing my IPS PDP. I'm wondering if anyone has done (or is planning to do) something as soon as gaining IP, to mark the occasion, such as doing your first IP shift on foot, on your own, just to get out there and see what it's like and how you'll operate. Or something similar along those lines. Naturally, regardless of IPS, I'll still mainly be on response with other officers, but it would be nice to get out and about on my own (on foot as I've no driving yet) and "get among it". So, what did you do, or what are you planning to do, or did you just carry on as normal?

So as a special, I have one remaining thing to sign off and that's "submit a report for summons file". I've spoken to my tutor and he said specials deal less and less with this now. So my question for discussion is how many of you specials regularly submit a summons file?

This has come up a few times recently and I was looking for some clarification. The special warnings are covered by S.37/S.38 of the Criminal Justice Act 1994: Legislation.gov link This seems to cover things like inferences being drawn from your presence at or near a crime scene with suspicious marks, matching footwear, being covered in blood, glass shards, etc. but I can't find any references to this special warning being required to be given post-arrest? Is it just given as per the normal use of the when and now caution?

Just wondering if anyone know of, or has the link to form that allows someone to restrict access to their details through the dvla. As in, preventing general access to your registered owner details without a court order etc. We may be getting bit of hostile recon at work and this may assist.

metzitzah b'peh Have any off you heard about this Jewish tradition where after circumcising a young boy, the mohel after performing the circumcision puts the penis in his mouth to suck the blood from the wound. I found this so disturbing I couldn't finish reading. I can't believe it could be true. it would have to be against the law that wouldn't it.
