General Policing Discussions

Hey, I had a search for this but couldn't find a solid answer. How long do you have to be a force before you can apply for a transfer to another? I'm in the early stages of recruitment into the Met but my missus is wanting to move elsewhere in the country sometime in the future (probably a fair few years) and I don't want to either get stuck in London due to the job or be unable to apply for a transfer to another force. I'm assuming you'll need to have completed your probation at least but I wondered if there were any other requirements? Thanks, James

I was watching the service from London for rememberence day I have to say it was recorded as I was on parade today with the Cadets. It got me thinking with all various associations eg Burma star or RMPA why not have an SC association. What do you think?

Hi Guys - I work for the Police Oracle and I am writing an article about the pay dispute affecting police staff and the proposed strike ballot. I am looking to write a much longer reflective piece focusing on how tough it is financially for police staff just to make ends meet, who or what is to blame and how it can all be resolved.
