Evening. I had a lively discussion the other day, with a training type person, who told me that there is very specific wording for the requirement to provide a breath sample. She even went as far as to say that a conviction may depend upon getting the wording exact. :new_hmmm: I thought it was similar to the caution in that the points need to be covered but it doesn't matter if you don't get it word perfect. Hi guys, I have just sent my application form off and wondered if someone could tell me the duration of training (if I'm successful) I can't seem to find any details about the actual training ie: is it every weekend, whole weekends etc etc Thank you in advance

Does anyone have any advice on this? I have an issue with one particular house mate who seems to keep throwing a hissy fit about me having to get up and ready at 4 in the morning for early turns (which in my shift pattern is maybe one set every 4 weeks or so). I literally tip toe around the house and do my best to avoid making noise but it's inevitable with creaky floorboards and having to use the shower. My sleep gets interupped constabtly being next to the living room and trying to sleep when everyone else is awake and I don't throw any hissy fits or send passive aggressive emails about it, I just accept it and go back to sleep. Rant over!

I hope this is the best place for this, there are so many stories about when things goes wrong or are dangerous. I was wondering if there is anything you have done as a police officer that you wouldn't of been able to of you where not. (I don't mean driving through red lights and hitting people with sticks )

Charlie is at it again... Whilst I believe the BNP are lowest of the low, Charlie's actions here are disgraceful, I don't think fighting 'hate' with 'hate' is ever a good idea but from a political perspective how is shouting down a valid political party (however distasteful you find them) acceptable democratically? Hi there, I have a couple of questions and any help would be appreciated. I haven't done a contemp interview for a few offences like assault, criminal damage and harassment/stalking, and I just wondered what relatively experienced officers would ask offenders for these different offences. I am aware that we use the points to prove, so would it be as simple as 'Did you hit x?' 'Did you intend to cause injury to x?', for assault? Please write out the questions you would ask. Also, when would you decide that you will do a contemp interview there and then, or invite the suspect to come to a police station for a voluntary interview under caution? I am after a bit of help i can't seem to find a definitive answer . Are the defences for d/d Due to prescription meds Not self induced ( spiking) Didn't belive the behaviour was disorderly Or am I confusing these with another drink offence.

Does your Force have anything in place to put restrictions on the amount of hours you are allowed to put in as a Special? For example the minimum is 16 hours, but SC Smith works on average 60-80 per month. SC Smith's line manager decides this is too much and restricts her to 30 per month. Is this a normal thing? Is it allowed? Ive heard some forces congratulate some specials for doing over 100 hours per month, present certificates etc. How can one force congratulate and others rebuke?

Hello all! I am applying for special constable at TVP I have been given mixed responses from TVP recruitment and TVP vetting 3years ago I was given a Youth Restorative Disposal for harassment at the time the officer said this will not Effect me in the future and when joining the police. As this is not a caution or conviction will this affect me? Thanks

Last night a colleague mentioned that the legislation surrounding S27s is changing, and it sounds like they'll be next to useless on a night-time economy shift, however, nobody seems to know how these changes will really affect us, and how we can use the new legislation. Does anybody have any more information?
