I was wondering whether anyone can shed some light on how the attestation is delivered in kent. Is it read out as an individual or is it done collectivity as a group just adding your own name. Many thanks

I often think about how many people drive when on a driving ban. The reality is that if they are driving a car that is road worthy, taxed, MOTd and insured the chances of them getting caught are remote. Would it be a good idea if a private company set up with the sole purpose of catching banned drivers? They would get the information off the police as to who was banned from driving and it would be down to them to track then down (similar to bailiffs but just drives). Once identified a banned driver they inform the police. They would then be payed 50% of the fine the person gets. This is a rough scenario, thoughts?

Adrenaline! How do you cope with it? It provides that fight or flight system response but it goes haywire sometimes. On most occassions when met with violence and aggression or a harrowing scene I seem perfectly capable to get on with it then deal wioth it later yet on occassion i get the shakey legs and hands for no apparent reason. As a part of the NWP Special Constable recruitment process, applicants are required to attend an eye examination at a local opticians. After attending mine I was prescribed with some corrective lenses to assist in my long distance sight. Despite having 6/6 (20/20) vision, the lenses correct to 6/5 which provides extra clarity at mid to long distance. I have to admit, I hadn't noticed a particular problem with my vision before the eye-test besides some occasional eye strain when watching TV. Hi All, I appreciate that driver training is a topic that comes up often and goes roiund in circles. I am untertaking a project to look at if and how I (Special Chief Inspector) can introduce this to Specials within my force (South Yorkshire Police) I could go through the 100s of threads but that would take an age and after having a quick look it will not give me what i need. Hi All, Not sure if this is general discussion or more kit corner however I have been looking at getting the Hughs Guide both for traffic and criminal law. What are people's experience of the books, do they provide practical advice as well as legislation e.g. provide stated cases and such forth. Does anyone subscribe and if so do they feel the updates provide value for money e.g. are you getting a couple of pages of A4 every 6 months or do you get loads of new pages to replace? Dear other PS.com readers, I raise this topic in concern regarding the moderation policy on this web site. Basically I note that there are an increasing number of instances whereby the moderators are removing comments for the purposes of "staying on topic". I note that fact most are serving or ex-serving police officers whose personalities are perhaps one of maintaining law and order (excuse the pun) ... but I get the impression even the BBC has a less strict moderation policy and one has to wonder, whether it is stifling a proper conversation at times. Yesterday I ran into a recruit who I had recommended for termination a couple of years ago. It was a very uncomfortable Meeting. The recruit was in his third phase of training when we responded to a simple family disturbance call. During the call a heavy set lady punched her husband in the mouth with a closed fist. The recruit did nothing. The lady then picked up a steel ashtray and hit her husband in the head. The recruit still did nothing . During this phase of training an FTO is supposed to act only as an observer unless the recruit seriously fouls up. At his point I took over an arrested the lady.
