Was meandering around on YouTube and found this video and thought I'd share for general interest. And of course your comments are always welcome

Hey guys. During training we had many power points which where a great help stating which section of which act does what. For example the MDA powers from S4(2) to S8. Do you know of, or have any power points or posters which I can print off and stick up to help me remember vital acts? Thanks.

Can somebody tell me what is a section 18?

So I've been looking at a few photos of Glastonbury, since when are you allowed not to wear your stabvest? I would want to wear it, even if it was baking hot considering how far away help can be and how many people who have been drinking or have been consuming drugs

Was at an Armed Forces Day event this week, seen police officers on a rib driving around the harbour? What branch is this? how would I apply?

There doesn't seem to be any 'streets policing' these days does there? Patrolling on foot, out there talking to residents, shopkeepers and business owners. Dealing with things major and minor on a beat, being on your own or making decisions with a trusted colleague. I can't remember the last time I saw any of this happening in my neck of the woods. I don't suppose it happens much anywhere these days. I think this is why we see Billy boy racer with his hot hatch driving like a lunatic on quiet 20 MPH side roads and getting away with it, Jack the lad drug dealer openly dealing in the street in broad daylight and his mate smoking dope around the shopping precinct left u…

I think I know the answer but: I was due to start nights tonight as below. Friday 2100-0700 Saturday 2100-0700 Sunday 2100-0700 I woke up and answered the phone in a slumber at around 1230PM earlier today and was told I am now working as thus: Friday (tonight) 1800-0600 Saturday 1800-0600 Sunday 1800-0600 Am I right in thinking that all I am entitled to us 6 hours OT? Or is there a provision for having been called on the day to be in earlier allowing extra payment of some sort? Thanks in advance.

If you haven't seen it already... Give it a watch on iplayer. Drama based on a true story based around DV. But fantastically done. I just hope it gives those who suffer at the hands of DV to find the strength to seek help.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/one-four-lost-trust-police-3740935 Jun 22, 2014 00:00 By Mirror.co.uk Alamy Millions of people no longer trust the police, a Sunday Mirror poll reveals today. It shows 24 per cent of Britons have lost faith in them following a series of high-profile scandals. The ComRes survey also found that 86 per cent believe that more Bobbies on the beat would cut crime. The findings come as the Sunday Mirror publish our ground-breaking Justice On Trial supplement with today’s paper. As the Government introduces more cuts, our 24-page investigation examines the entire justice system, from when a crime is committed to prison overcrowding and re…

Just thought I'd start of a little bit of an open debate after a recent night shift hospital guard. I'm not fussed about getting it, it comes as you see both sides of policing - the good and the bad. Technically speaking we are doing a DDOs job while we're guarding a guy in hospital. Would it not work out far batter all round if this job was left to DDOs? It's no more or less than what they may be doing in custody and it would mean that two regular officers (who are paid more) are able to be out on the streets doing what they do? Surely it would work out better all round? Are there any forces who have DDOs doing their hospital guards? Thoughts? Discuss...! EDIT: DDO =…
