Hello Everyone, Some of you may have seen me posting already but in case you haven't I'll give you a bit of background. I represent the online group Firearms UK. We aim to promote and protect firearms ownership for law abiding people in the UK. We are not solely about self-defence as we cover every aspect of lawful firearms ownership from game and target shooting to paintball and airsoft. However, we feel that self-defence is an aspect that is not often talked about and in our view particularly relevant to crime prevention.... We believe that it should be the right for every law abiding citizen to be able to own firearms, if they choose too, as used to be the case in …

Good Morning, I am a recent retiree of the City of Dallas Police Department where I served 30 years as a patrol officer and then as a Detective while investigating Aggravated Robberies and Kidnappings in the Crimes Against Persons Section. Since retirement my wife and I have traveled numerous times to Europe and the U.K.. While on a recent trip to London I chatted to a London Metropolitan officer who informed me that there are over 25,000 police officers in London. In the area in which I worked we have counties such as Dallas County the complete county is patrolled by Dallas county Sheriffs officers and these officers also manage the county jail. The cities within the cou…

Have to say the cops are pretty good! I'm also pinching the cops line at 9.48 for my own use. Whats the difference between a Scottish Sovereign and a freeman?

I've always been told that you're on duty from the moment you leave your house to the moment you get home, does anyone actually have a copy of the corresponding regulation that states this? When I say travel time as duty I mean if you have a RTC etc not actually claiming pay etc.

Im trying to find an Android app relating to Police Powers. Quick reference guide where it states the definition and points to prove. I'm sure I have read about some on here. The app would need to be upto date and updated when required. Thank you in advance. I apologise for any spelling errors, my android makes it difficult to re read once typed.

Hi. Just about to start training as a special just have a question I havnt seen elsewhere on here. I work on a nursing bank which is essential a 0 hours contract but always have atleast full time hours if not more. However I don't get sick pay so would I be screwed if I got injured whilst on duty as a special and I am unable to work my day job? I work in a secure mental health facility so even minor broken fingers would prevent me from being on the wards. Thanks.

I've started to see YouTube channels about UK police uniforms and equipment being created, so I decided to make my own channel. Thought I'd post something on here and see if anyone may be interested. http://m.youtube.com/channel/UCleC8cnmYhBYt-4LatWVXPw

Is there nowadays any good reason not to have a single force that covers the entirety of England & Wales? The benefits would be huge - just think of the waste currently with each force independently sourcing its own tools and kit that are often incompatible with each other. In terms of information sharing and keeping procurement costs down then it should be a good move. Many forces are already sharing resources between themselves to reduce costs. It might require some changes to the way in which forces are funded and some safeguards may be needed to ensure that resources continue to be spread across the country in a sensible way, but that shouldn't be impossible t…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28277417 It's interesting how this article talks about the PolFed representing rank and file officers : I'm guessing us specials must parade elsewhere, because they sure don't represent us, and yet we're also gonig to be subject to any new legislation like this. It's one reason why I think we should join the Fed as Specials, because right now no-one represents us.

Hey guys, first of all, i hope I've placed this thread in its appropriate area, i do apologize to any mods in advance who have to move it. I've recently finished my day 2 in the hope that it all went well, and currently awaiting security vetting and references. A couple of days after finishing my day 2, I received a choice of some training dates via email and promptly made my decision (note that this is still provided i pass vetting etc.) They got back to me today to confirm it, along with the borough i will also be posted to, which came as a pleasant surprise. Like everybody else i chose 3 boroughs, however Camden happened to be my third choice and I'm actually very pl…

I was wondering who teaches and instructs on OST or DT in your force? I'm aware in many cases Officers can specialise in the instruction of the above training and deliver such to other officers, but some forces use external civilian instructors apparently. I'm wondering what the state of play is up and down the board? I'm interested in learning more on these subjects as a PCSO with a view to delivering such but at the moment the idea has been knocked back, despite their being no refresher for PCSO's in my force. I do understand there is ALOT of red tape around this.
