Are there any PSU medics here? Can anyone tell me a bit about the role? I know there are some older topics on this, but I thought I would start a fresh one. I've not really got any specific questions at the moment, just thought I would open up a discussion about it. Its something I've always been interested in.

I was walking down the local High Street this evening and came across one of a growing number of these 'cannabis shops'. It made me think how on earth can these actually be allowed to trade with items such as pipes clearly on display in the front window. Exposing our youth to all the paraphernalia seems a tad ridiculous given the recent spate of 'legal high' deaths.

Straightforward question: I think the PCSO at 4.08 (who I believe is being referred to as PCSO Fellows) has cuffs, why? I know PCSOs can detain (and use reasonable force to do so) people for up to half an hour in certain situations, and that anyone can carry cuffs lawfully, but were they force issued, and what is the reasoning? That poor child...being referred to as a procreation! Cheers

Might be worth setting the sky plus for (no, I'm not featured in it but I may be in the background occasionally...) http://www.cheshire.police.uk/news--appeals/latest-news/2014/04/tv-show-to-make-stars-of-chesh.aspx?lang=en-gb&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

I seen this video (link below) on YouTube earlier and it got me thinking....have any of you ever come across somebody impersonating a member of the emergency services? I bet it's not as rare as I think it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeuJ_6skbF4

A very headache inducing interview with a freeman, no idea how this interview was recorded or if its from a tape or disk, it's very echoey in that interview room. It's been uploaded anyhow. CommonlyknownasDom is perhaps one of the bigger subscribers to 'Freemanism' the man frequently has run-ins with the police and then misquotes dictionary definitions... I figured some of you may find it interesting.

Has anyone juggled Reserves/Specials? I've passed selection as a special and attending pre-induction, but already see that 4 training weekends clash with my RMR commitments. If I miss 2 weekends with RMR it's an automatic backtroop, due to the low number of RM reservists, there is only 1 recruit troop a year. Has anyone had experience with this and managed to juggle it, along with a full time job? The only way I can see it working is if I'm chosen for Home learning.

No, I am not talking about the minimum age to join the job (I know it's 18), but the minimum age of maturity that is best for the job. This may open up a can of worms so bear with me and let me explain. Looking back on when I was 18, and those 18 years around me, I remember a time of going out clubbing, lots of drinking, caring little and knowing little of responsibility. When I was 22 and I was near the end of my term in uni, I have matured in terms of knowing more about meeting deadlines, responsibility, people skills etc. Now that I have aged more since those times, I look back and again think...I was such an idiot at times. Having gone through Hendon and having h…

Hi guys, me again. Whilst driving home this evening I came across a horse rider who was wearing a vest almost identical to the one pictured except it didn't have the other writing underneath. What are your thoughts? For me I think it looks far too similar to police high vis.
