John is fed up of his car being stollen, /broke into, after the third theft in a week the car is now scrap, but in order to extract revenge he decides to make some modification, the has legal access to theatrical gun powder and detonators, so he pours the gun powder down the air vents along with a detonator wired to the car ignition, on top of this he places a considerable amount of dog muck and tops it off with some industrial dye. When the lad returns. He snaps the ignition off and hot wires the car. The resultant bang is heard several streets away. Inspired by the ''coppers thread, I though I would post this Steve is sat in on a Friday night, he has not a jot of money to his name no food in the house and all the cards are maxed out. So he calls a taxi and heads into town, when they arrive, tells the driver he has no money and gives him his business card and says ''send the bill'' and legs it before the driver can react. He then goes in to an expensive restaurant and orders the lobster Theodore and several bottles of vintage wine, when the cheque arrives he puts his business card in the wallet, with please invoice me written on it, before climbing out of the toilet window he then repeats his taxi trip home gives …

As I haven't graduated in my training yet I am encouraged not to get involved with anything, however I came across this situation the other day and wasn't quite sure how I should be dealing with it even if I had graduated. I was doing some walking tour around a city with my girlfriend and other members of the public off duty. Down a busy public footpath I noticed a group of 3-4 minors, perhaps 14-15 years old sat in the hedge not entirely out of public view but it was certainly suspicious. I could not smell weed or anything but they were definitely smoking or about to smoke something. It may be that they hadn't yet sparked up and had small quantities well wrapped. What …

You are parked on a University campus at 5AM, which requires you to have a permit to park in due to limited spaces. You do not have a permit. You return to the car after 4 hours to find that one of the university car parking porters has placed a sticker on the window of your car. You attempt to remove the sticker from your car but find out it is designed to be very hard to remove to deter people from parking without a permit. This leaves bits of the sticker left on the window which requires an hour of cleaning to get off. Any offences?

your local authority is sick of drug use in parks so swears in a number of their rangers as constables using new legislation allowing Parks Constables. Everyone is very happy as it cuts drug and violent crime in parks Whilst driving between green street park and white street common to lock up they witness a male violently assaulting a female punching and kicking her. They stop to intervene and end up batoning and then cuffing the male and call the Police & Ambulance. the male claims the arrest was unlawful as the Rangers aren't police and want's them arrested for using batons on him. What would you do as responding officer?

You've just come across this incident as a police officer (either on or off duty) You have 3 or potentially more offences being committed by various people: 10yo inside the store has allegedly stolen a packet of crisps and is pushing a store worker after being locked inside The store worker has locked the child in the store and is handling the child aggressively Various minors outside breaking the glass in the door to try and release their friend You have to ask why none of these idiots called/waited for the police instead of trying to take things in to their own hands. How would you initially handle this situation? Questions asked at the store? Who would you call ba…

A (non-police) work colleague has just asked me for advice on a real life problem that one of his friend's (let's call him Adam) is experiencing. He approached me because he knows that I am a special. I'd welcome any advice to pass on. I apologise for the length of this post, and also if I've chosen the wrong forum area. I thought it was close enough to police work to be a Scenario rather than a Help Me! topic. Adam lives with his son, who is in his mid twenties. His son is a regular drug user (both cannabis and stronger drugs, to which he is addicted), has a history of aggressive behaviour, and neither works nor is financially able to support himself. Adam's son…
