The night before Xmas, Bill stops in a the Red Lion on his way home from work to catch up with Jim. He only intends to have the one, but they get chatting and one leads to a few more with Whiskey chasers. So it ends three hours later, when bill gets his car keys out, says goodbye to the folk in the PUB, lots of hand shakes and ''have a good un'' and staggers off to his company car One of the more sober drinkers, disproves strongly of drunk driving follows Bill out and makes an anonymous call to the police to report Bill. he gives Bills name, address and reg number. but not his own name Your out on patrol and get dispatched to look into the matter. Its less than a mile …

Drug users A and B are told by their dealer to go to Ms Miggins corner shop in the next town to steal two bottles Glenmoreangie whisky as part payment for a debt, B has been banned from entering the shop on a previous occasion for a similar theft. Knowing full well that Ms Miggins goes to the local cash and carry on a thurs to replenish stocks leaving her elderly mother (with somewhat failing eyesight)in charge, decide to travel to the shop to steal the whisky as soon as Ms Miggins has left. For the purposes of this scenario we will take it as read that A and B knew that their conduct was dishonest according to ordinary standards of reasonable and honest people…

Ok, so you pull over a vehicle after seeing it do a bit of weaving. Not a lot, but you want to complete a breath test. The vehicle pulls over but the driver won't get out or open the window. He shows you Id and everything is in order with the vehicle etc. You make the requirement but they still won't open up. Given that a car is a premises under pace and therfore needs a power entry, how do you get the driver nicked for failing.

You are assigned to deal with a report of malicous communication from a senior officer stating they have recieved an email containing three photographs of themself defaced with Hitler moustaches. Would you bother recording this as a crime and if not why not? If so then how would you deal with the suspect once identified?

Doing some research on Biteback spray and discovered they do a 600ML version similar in size to the MK9 Riot spray deployed in the US, got me thinking - it does occasionally happen You attend a park to deal with reports of a large group of drunk youths with dogs trying to make them fight, when you get there you find a number of Parks Officers (local council) with the 600ML sprays in thigh holsters what would be your action? Attend an out of town shopping centre to deal with a detained shoplifter, and discover security carrying the sprays in the same holsters, signs stating that it is private property and no dogs are permitted are displayed at all entry and exit points a…

Comms come over the radio and send you to a house where there has been reports of a fight with a couple, suspected DV incident. You arrive at the house and all is quiet. You knock of the door and a women answers and says that everything is fine and that nothing has happened. You ask where the other person is and for them to come to the door but the women doesn't allow it.. Something doesn't feel right. You know you need to get into that property and take positive action but you don't have enough grounds to enter enable you to enter to save life or limb so s.17 is ruled out, what do you go on? I attended a job yesterday and want opinions on how you would deal with it. I wont tell you how we did until a few responses. We got called by a young male stating he had been assaulted. When we spoke to him he told us that he was walking along the road when a car pulled up, a male unknown to him approached him and punched him in the face before the second male pulled him back into the car and they drove off. He gave us the colour, make, model and VRM of the car along with a description of the two males. The punch had bust his nose and blackened his eyes. He gave a full statement and agreed he woild go court if needs be. His clothing as well as the pavement where it occu…

I heard something like this come in over the radio a while back and thought it would be interesting to get some perspectives on it. I have changed the scenario from the actual one, but I hope you can see the overall issue. You get a report over the radio of a suspected drink driver in the evening. The caller is in a car behind the target vehicle and can see that their driving is unsteady - The car is swaying around on the road a bit and they have that "something's not right" vibe. The driver is sticking to the limit and is staying within their lane, but they appear to be intoxicated. They're not doing anything which on its own accord would be dangerous though. They're s…

*Apologies if this has been posted before, had a quick search and couldn't see anything* Three videos from Scottish Police Federation. I'm interested to see what you guys would do in these situations and the follow up investigations. All very tough situations and not nice positions to be in, especially if single crewed.

I remember seeing a video on facebook not long ago where a group of lads travelled round in a car looking for any other lads who were sporting a pony tail/ top not/ bun type hair style which they wanted to rid the world of. At which point they stopped the car, ran over and cut the pony tail/ hair off with a pair of scissors. So say you saw this happening, obviously this is assault (ABH) so you could arrest for that, but could you arrest for the scissors too? i.e. offensive weapon as they intended to cause harm? or pointed or bladed article in a public place?

This is a legitimate, genuine question and I guess falls under 'scenario'. If you need the toilet, when NOT on duty, and you're in a town within your borough/county, would you use your key fob and display your warrant card to enter another nick and use the facilities? Let's say you're stationed at Horsham but out for the day in Hastings and caught short near the station but don't know anyone there. What do you do? :D

Throughout the area in which I work nuisance motorcycles are a reoccurring issue every year. Groups of young lads between 11-19 years old ride off road bikes/mopeds through towns, on roads and pavements, down alleyways and across parks. Majority of the time the bikes have had VRM's removed (or didn't have plates in the first place) and the stolen ones often end up burnt out in fields etc. The lads on these bikes rarely wear helmets and often have their faces concealed with scarfs or masks. Whilst some are very open about their actions on social media it's rarely possible to tie them down to specific incidents. It is often too dangerous to pursue the bikes and the lads hav…

I had my first at 42, after my divorce, where I spent 5 years of my life acting like i was 25, driving round in '' flashy cars'' dressing street'' and dating 22 yo girls . quite a nice time in retrospect But 14 yo later Im here again, only this time I seem to have reverted to about 12 and its all the toys my parents wouldn't buy me when i was a kid. like mountain bikes, scaletric and my latest'' toy'' a baseball bat I take it to the park, with a bag of tennis balls and wang the balls around the field and the dog returns them for me, passes an hour on pleasantly, is a good work out and works wonder for hand eye…
