The Highways Agency found over 200 dead crows on the M4 near Bridgend recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. An avian pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be from impacts with vehicles. However, during analysis it was noted that varying colours of paints appeared on the bird's beaks and claws. By analysing these paint residues it was found that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with lorrys, while only 2% were killed by cars. The Highways Agency then hired an Ornithological Behaviourist to determine if there was a…

possible reforms, sentencing and overcrowding issues, potential solutions and also public/private partnerships running prisons because I suspect it is an issue that will be coming to the UK soon.

I am a massive Batman fan, always have been. I am developing a (really) sad photo, my girlfriend says I am obsessed.... But there's room for more "heroes" - I would be particularly interested in more Police-related heroes. I only have one on here... Any ideas, let me know. It's being printed out and pinned alongside the other Batman posters in my room :-)

I have had notification from ns&i that the new over 65 growth bond has now gone on sale. Interest being I think 2.8% for one year and 4% for 4 years, that's of course without taking any of the money out. It may be my imagination, but those rates do seem low, bearing in mind that Osbourne, at the last budget seemed to be saying that the rates made up for more senior savers being penalised for a great deal of time now. I could be wrong of course, but it doesn't look that way. Maybe he just wanted to put a favourable spin on it.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2909151/Warning-rising-tide-anti-Semitism-Britain-one-eight-people-claiming-Jews-talk-Holocaust-sympathy.html Once more the Mail seems to be able to create a story out of a survey of 1,000 people amongst a population of 60 million. There are parts of the UK where there are quite recognisable "Jewish" areas but, generally speaking most Jewish people live within the wider community and are as British as any other citizen. The only difficult thing for them is, perhaps, that Israeli activities get inextricably entangled in the perspective of many people and that is not helpful. The irony of all this is that the peoples of th…

Incidentally did May tell her colleagues in Europe today of all the grand plan in the next spending review of further massive cuts to the policing budget ?? I doubt it very much. Much of the Intel the security services can come from the troops on the ground but I doubt that it's recognised any more!
