Well, the long awaited holiday in celebration of my birthday (which is on Friday) is almost upon us. Just one more shift to do tonight and then I shall be winging my way with Mr Purity on Saturday across to the USA and then cruising down Mexico way. I am sure the ladies will sympathise with the difficulties of having to pack for what amounts to two holidays in one! Trust me, its been difficult. It's not helped by the uncertainty of the weather conditions we're likely to encounter. We've just about managed to get the clothing for the first week into one suitcase and that for the cruise the second week into another. I could have filled both suitcases just with my o…

Distinctive portraits of British, US and Canadian service personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan - created by artist Michael Reagan - have gone on display at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington DC. A Vietnam War veteran himself, he has produced more than 2,000 drawings for the soldiers' families free of charge. He told BBC Radio 4's PM programme he wants to document all of the Allied troops killed in action. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8471873.stm If one of the MOD's does not want it on her, you are free to remove it at No Charge. I know that it might not fit on this forum but it is apart of all our lives. And this guys Art work is Fantastic…

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8408760.stm To even speculate as to what he's stopped being published is likely to illicit a threat of legal action. He's not British. Whatever he's been involved in, in the last week or so, hasn't happened here. His RTC didn't happen here. Nothing about him is British. So how come he can use our laws from a foreign country?

Anybody know the name of this song, its often used for Formula 1 when the Grand Prix goes to Monaco/Monte Carlo? Its from the 60's and is played by a full orchestra but has a lot of trumpets on it? I am maybe thinking James Last (sounds his kinda thing - stuff my dad would listen to).

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article7043985.ece It appears that it is not just the Police Force who end up with ethnic officers not up to the job, but are chosen just to 'get the numbers up'.(on the instructions from the Home Office) This lady has hit the nail on the head regarding the CPS.

My house lies just at the foot of a heavily-wooded ridge called Hallandsås, that extends from the coast to about 25 miles inland. One of my colleagues teaches history, and I was describing the exact location of my house to him, and the view of the ridge and the small plain leading up to it, and showed him a picture. He recognised it at once and, in fact, he knows some history about it. He told me that there was every reason to believe the land upon which my house was situated has been occupied, pretty much continuously, for a very long time owing to the sheltered position, the game which lives there and the plentiful supply of timber. He said archaeology found there in …

Other proposals being considered as part of strategic review include axing Asian Network, placing cap on sports rights outlay, selling off BBC magazines and cutting film and TV show acquisition budget http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/feb/2...trategic-review While i applaud director general Mark Thompson's strategic review of the corporation's scope and activities, from a general point of view, i would argue capping sport rights outlay will be a mistake, seeing as the rivals will not reveal how much they bid and will bid for future rights of sporting events, citing commercial sensitivities, how is handicapping the BBC on how much they can spend on rights, going to hel…

A CRAZED Rottweiler dog savagely "scalped" a five-year-old boy - but its owner was let off. Rhys Webb needed almost 100 stitches after the horrific attack. He was left permanently scarred and will never grow hair on parts of his head. But the owner of the dog - named Rocky - avoided prosecution because the animal was not in his care when the attack happened. Rhys and his two brothers were playing in a communal garden in Rainham, Essex, when the dog charged round the corner, sank its teeth into his head and shook him from side to side.
