What podcasts is everyone listening to? Need some new recommendations. I’m a fan of Serial, Dirty John, Teacher’s Pet, that kind of true crime genre but nothing that sounds overly scripted.

Those who may be long-time users who moved over from the sister site might remember Prawnballs (Steven I think), does anyone know what happened to him? Last heard he was a Lancashire SC (who transferred from GMP).

Hi, it would appear that my application for constable has been unsuccessful. I received an email stating as such, but what I wasn't expecting was that no feedback/scores were provided. I am sure I remember talk of a "candidate feedback form". Not sure where from though. This is the email I was sent Dear MR X Thank you for your recent attendance at senior interview for the role of Police Constable - Mar18. I am now in receipt of the results and it is with regret that I must inform you that you have not been recommended for the role of Police Constable - Mar18 on this occasion. Unfortunately it is not Police practice to provide inte…

Hi there, I've got an application in at the moment, but I wish to take a pre assessment course to give me the best chance of passing the SEARCH assessment. However, none of the companies seem to be running them in the south east at all at the moment. Talking Blues has them all up north, Blue Light Consultancy seems to have discontinued them and there was another one where I enquired and they'd also discounted them. For some reason as soon as I need to do one of these courses they've all been discounted? Can anyone advise?

Hello, I am sure this has been discussed 10000000s of times but I don’t know who else to talk to about it as I don’t want to sound like a moaner at work. I am thinking of leaving the police for various reasons. Only problem is, I have no idea what else I’d like to do. I have no qualifications (other than GCSES, a diploma in animal care and my police diploma). I would love to work with animals but when I approach employees they find it strange that a police officer wants to do the job of a kennel assistant for example. There is currently a role I’m interested in, working at a kennels and chattery, If I went for it would take a 10k pay cut however I wou…

Well, it is a long time since I posted in here! My daughter turned 3 on Good Friday last year she was diagnosed with an extremely rare but treatable form of cancer and she is currently undergoing chemotherapy. We've been raising money for money for charity since December, we raised about £776 from an online lucky dip for a pair of football tickets. On Good Friday we raised over £1800 through evening fund raising evening, with money raised through a raffle. The £776 went to the children's oncology ward at Nottingham Children's Hospital, £1000 will be going to the Oncology department again, £700 will be going to Macmillan and the rest to CLIC SARGENT, we would love to …

Long time since I've posted here, but wondering if anyone can help. I'm trying to get hold of a Lego mini figure with a likeness to a typical Police Scotland/UK police officer. I've tried looking online at the likes of eBay and other sites, but can only find cops done up like SWAT or with a custodian helmet or police of different countries. Anyone got any idea where I can get something more routine?

From a colleague and a member of the Police Family ... #HELP4MILLIE All details can be found on https://www.gofundme.com/millievbt This is Millie’s story…… This is my daughter Millie who is 14 years of age. She has been diagnosed with Scoliosis - a debilitating condition causing curvature of the spine. Usually this is corrected through the wearing of a brace for 20hrs a day but Millies condition has developed beyond this stage and urgent spinal surgery is necessary. An x-ray revealed a severe curve of 44 degrees. Bracing is ineffective past 40 degrees. We couldnt believe what we were seeing on the X-ray because on the outside she looks normal b…
