http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2113730/Retest-elderly-drivers-make-sure-safe-wheel-new-report-urges.html - I drive almost every day of the week, and from my observations(as an ex 27 year RPU officer, and Class 1 Police Instructor)it's not the over 70 who need training, but the majhority of 18 to 25 year olds, who all think they are Lewis Hamilton, and drive like lunatics, much the same as Hamilton, but appear to get away without his number of crashes.

Whilst driving along a couple of weeks ago, my autobox died a painful death. Awful series of thuds/thumps followed by metallic clatter, before totally losing drive to the wheels... So no prizes for guessing what I've been up to! Popped off the old gearbox the other morning. Not a bad job, being rear wheel drive, just a case of unbolting the torque converter from the flex plate, removing the cat converters, propshaft, linkage, and electrical gubbins, bellhousing bolts, and carefully lowering it off, supported by a jack. Upon taking the box apart, it was clear the thrust washer had disintegrated, and even worse, the sprag clutch has shattered into lots of metal peices. Wh…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2112175/Charlie-Gilmour-allowed-return-Cambridge-University-October.html Standards must have really dropped when Universities allow ex convicts to resume uni courses, unless of course a large sum of money has been paid in to allow him back. I expect his simpering, wimpey, self obssessed mother, put on her' crocodile tears' infront of the VC of the uni, and told them that what he did was just a 'childish prank'. Lets hope his spell in prison did him some good and he behaves from now on.

Have you ever said something, as a Police Officer and then thought 'Whoops! That sounded wrong!' I once called the IP of some ASB to tell them that the neighbours daughter was having a 12th Birthday Party which was a Hot Tub Party in the back garden - and that they were going to take it inside now. It was freezing weather outside and the IP said on the phone 'Oh I bet you wish you could have got in don't you!' I was like 'Yeah! Nice and warm!' then realised she might read that as me wanting to get into a hot tub with 12 year old girls Que lots of back-peddling and sounding stupid on my part 'Only into the hot tub mind....er...er...yeah' Twas that got me thinking a…

Hi all. Sadly my Norwegian Elkhound, Charlie, died this morning from a heart attack. He would be 8 this year and was very healthy. The vet likened it to the rare occurances when healthy teenagers die suddenly of heart failure. He died with mum along side him, who saw that something was wrong when he was in the garden. She attempted cardiac massage but it was to no avail. He was our first dog and we got him when I was a teen and is my absolute best friend. However, I'm grateful for a few things. That he died suddenly, that he didn't grow old and suffer in pain through other illness (meaning us making the choice of putting him down) and that my mum was with him when he die…
