I know that the TACOS review result is imminent with the details now being finalised (as posted on Fed website). Do any well connected MOD officers out there know what the proposals are? Maybe there's stuff in there to cheer up all the disillusioned officers?...although I doubt it!

Seeing as recruitment has frozen at the moment and not a lot is happening on our end I thought I'd see where everyone is hoping they'll be based once/if they get through the process. I personally am hoping for Portsmouth as I live in the city and I can pretty much walk there. Where are you hoping to be based?

With the awful events of recent days does anyone think that recruitment will restart? Would the MDP be used to support other forces in a terror attack or would it's smaller size and increase focus limit this? I had heard that with possible plans to increase cooperation with the BTP and that they could work together as a national firearms response force? This might be a load of rubbish but it would be an interesting idea 2bn extra for special forces and a massive increase to GCHQ and MI5 are already planned.

Just discovered that not only do the Port of Liverpool Police cover the ports of Liverpool but it would appear they patrol the Manchester Ship Canal The Port of Liverpool are owned by Peel ports and their website states So presumably as with other ports "officers have the full powers of a constable on any land owned by the harbour, dock, or port and at any place within one mile of any owned land" they could exercise powers in Glasgow, Heysham etc. if that is the case seemingly they have the largest "patch" of an Port or Harbour Police

Hi folks, Just finished week one of training ? and all is good. Does anyone know exactly how the pay Increments work??? Do you get one on completion of training, or end off year one or when you complete your probation. Also anyone have any idea who the childcare voucher provider for the MDP is??? Cheers

Hello all, I have my form printed and have started to fill in. My main question which I am hoping that someone might be able to answer for me is realistically what are the chances (if successful!) of gaining a posting other than AWE, in particular in the South West of England Region? I've read that there are MDP bases at Cheltenham, Abbey Wood, Devonport etc. Thanks

Does anyone know how much PT there is during the course at Wethersfield? I am fairly fit but I was wondering whether I should be getting in some more training before starting in a few weeks. Thanks.
